❗On Saturday, October 4th, Austria will once again carry out its nationwide civil protection test.

In addition to the 8,300 sirens across Austria, the AT-Alert mobile warning system will also send out test notifications between 12:00 and 13:00. 📢📲

👉 No need to worry! This is only a test, but please take the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the signals.

Between 12:00 and 12:45, you may hear different siren signals across the country:

• 🔊 Siren test: 15-second continuous tone
• 🚒 Fire brigade alarm: 3 x 15-second continuous tone
• ⚠️ Warning: 3-minute continuous tone, meaning danger is possible, prepare
• 🚨 Alarm: 1-minute rising and falling tone, meaning danger is imminent, take protective action immediately
• ✅ All-clear: 1-minute continuous tone, signalling that danger is over

The test serves two important purposes:
1️⃣ To ensure that the technical systems are working properly.
2️⃣ To help the population recognize and understand the civil protection signals in case of emergency.

✨ It’s a wrap! 🎉
Our 2025 career training series “Personal & Professional Compass” has come to a successful close. 🚀

In the third and final workshop, we tackled one of the most crucial steps in the application process: the job interview. Participants had the chance to practice their interview skills through roleplays, simulating real-life conversations with potential employers. 💼🗣️

Our expert Angela from the Career Center Universität Graz provided valuable tips on how to make a strong impression and present themselves confidently. 💪🤝

Say goodbye to passport stamps, Europe’s getting a high-tech border upgrade! ✈🤝

Launching on 12 October 2025, the EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES) will digitally track non-EU travelers coming in and out of the Schengen Area for short stays (up to 90 days). Instead of stamps, it’ll scan fingerprints and snap a quick photo to speed up border checks and boost security. The system will roll out across 29 countries, with full coverage expected by April 2026. Manual stamping will still occur during the transition phase.

🆒💻 Our community came together online to explore the many secondary school options available for children aged 10 and up in Graz.

From admission requirements to the registration process, the session offered parents a clear overview of what to expect when it comes to planning the next step in their children’s education. 📚👩‍🏫🏫

A big thank you goes to Dr. Ingrid Gehrke, who once again guided us through the topic with great expertise and answered the participants’ questions in detail. 🙏👏

After processing over 2,000 pages of applications and documents for the upcoming CINT German courses, we are excited to announce that the groups are assigned, participants informed – now we’re counting down to the very first lesson on October 8th. 🥳🔜👩‍🏫

Together with the language institutes Deutsch&Mehr and Deutsch in Graz [Dig] and thanks to the funding of the Österreichischer Integrationsfonds, we were able to organize a total of 10 classes, ranging from A1.1 to B2.2. 🙌

As in the previous two successful rounds in 2024, international employees of our member companies once again get the chance to enhance their German skills in classes tailor-made for our community of highly qualified global talents. What’s new this time around: in addition to learning the language in the traditional way, we will focus on technical and business German. 🗣👔✍

To all participants: may your notebooks fill with new words, your confidence grow with every class, and your learning journey be both fun and rewarding. We can’t wait to see where German takes you! 👏✨
