Join us for the keynote lecture of the VieSID Summer School 2026, for an introduction to the concept of individualized functional dentistry of the Vienna School of Interdisciplinary Dentistry (VieSID), on the 21st of July at 17:00, in the main lecture hall of the University Dental Clinic Vienna.
With this lecture, Dr. Ian Tester (prosthodontist, Canada) and Dr. Miguel Assis (orthodontist, Portugal) will provide an overview of the key concepts in occlusion medicine according to the teachings of Professor Rudolf Slavicek and will elucidate the relevant terminology used during the congress.
Occlusion medicine is a discipline addressing the stomatognathic system in its entirety, considering both its structural and functional role, and its relationship with the rest of the body, unifying the orthopedic and the biopsychological approaches for oral care. Such a deep understanding of the functions and kinematics of the masticatory system represents the foundation for personalizing treatment and allows achieving long-lasting results in oral rehabilitation.
Whether you're discovering occlusion medicine for the first time or are looking forward to solidifying your knowledge, whether you are going to attend the VieSID congress or just want to take a peek into our activities, you are warmly invited to attend this opening lecture and the drinks reception that follows.
