Could it be diabetes? Don’t ignore the warning signs ⚠️

If you are concerned that you might have diabetes, it is important not to delay getting checked. Sometimes a look at your family history can already provide valuable clues — if diabetes runs in your family, your genetic risk may be higher.

It is also important to remember that diabetes can occur at any age. In many cases, genetic predisposition plays a more significant role than age itself.

Some symptoms can be early warning signs:
💧 excessive thirst
😴 persistent fatigue
🦠 frequent infections
⚕️ small abscesses

If you notice these symptoms, it is important to consult a doctor and get proper medical evaluation.

The good news is that treatment options for diabetes today are far more advanced and diverse than they were just a few years ago.

At Mavie Med Private Hospitals, diagnostics are fast and comprehensive, and our specialists provide access to modern treatment approaches.

Still feeling exhausted even though spring is here? 🌸😴

Longer days, more sunlight… and yet your energy is low?
This can happen — your body often needs time to adjust after winter.

But persistent fatigue is not always just “spring tiredness.” ⚠️

Your kidneys play a vital role in your health:
They regulate blood pressure, filter toxins and support red blood cell production. 🫀🧬

When kidney function declines, symptoms can remain subtle for a long time —
and fatigue may be one of the first signs.

Especially if you live with high blood pressure or diabetes, regular kidney checks are essential. 🩺
Simple blood and urine tests can provide important clarity.

If you’ve been feeling tired for a while and want to understand why — we’re here for you. 🤍

Mammography is a key method for the early detection of breast cancer and is generally recommended from the age of 40.

For women with a family history, earlier screening is advised — at least 5 years before the age at diagnosis of close relatives.

At the same time, getting to know your body is just as important. Understanding how a healthy breast looks and feels helps to notice changes early.

Monthly self-examination is a simple habit that can make a meaningful difference 📅

At Mavie Med Private Hospitals in Vienna, we provide mammography in a calm, professional environment, with care tailored to each individual ✨

If something feels uncertain, it’s always worth checking.

Mammography can save lives.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide. Each year, around 2.3 million women are diagnosed, and more than 685,000 deaths are attributed to the disease.

The encouraging news is that early detection dramatically improves treatment outcomes.

Mammography can detect changes in breast tissue long before symptoms appear. Studies show that women who undergo regular screenings have about a 26–30% lower risk of dying from breast cancer.

This means that timely screening can make a critical difference.

Key facts to remember:
✔ breast cancer detected early is often highly treatable
✔ regular screening helps find cancer at an earlier stage
✔ preventive care is one of the most important steps for long-term health

If you have been advised to have a mammogram — or if it has been a while since your last screening — it may be the right moment to schedule a consultation.

Taking care of your health today helps protect your tomorrow. 💗

Have you been diagnosed with a cyst or fibroid and immediately thought surgery was the only option?

In many cases, it isn’t.

Benign findings such as cysts or fibroids can often be treated successfully with conservative therapy, meaning without surgery.

And if an operation does become necessary, it can frequently be performed using minimally invasive techniques. These modern methods are gentler for the body and usually allow for a much faster recovery.

The key is getting the right medical advice. Our specialists carefully evaluate each case individually and discuss the most appropriate treatment options with you.

Today is International HPV Awareness Day 🌍

This day reminds us how important awareness, open conversation, and timely prevention truly are.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common viral infections worldwide. Most people will encounter it at some point in their lives, often without experiencing any symptoms. In many cases, the body clears the virus naturally.

However, certain high-risk types can increase the risk of cervical cancer and other serious diseases.

Regular screening 🩺 and timely vaccination 💉 are important steps in protecting your long-term health. Awareness supports informed decisions and helps reduce risks.

If you would like to discuss HPV screening, vaccination, or your individual risk factors, our English-speaking specialists in Vienna are here to provide professional guidance.

✨ Your journey to better health starts earlier than you think

Preventive check-ups are available from the age of 18 — with no upper age limit.

In younger years, regular check-ups help identify potential health risks early, taking family history and lifestyle into account. Starting early means taking control of your health before symptoms even appear 💪

As we age, our body’s needs change. From around 40–45 onwards, comprehensive preventive examinations play a key role in early diagnosis, long-term well-being, and maintaining quality of life 🌿

💙 Prevention is not about illness.
It’s about awareness, self-care, and confidence in your health.

It is not about fear.

🎗 Up to 4 in 10 cancer cases can be prevented.

According to a new global analytical study by the World Health Organization and its International Agency for Research on Cancer, 37% of all new cancer cases worldwide — around 7.1 million cases in 2022 — were linked to preventable risk factors.

The study is based on data from 185 countries and 36 types of cancer, highlighting the enormous potential of prevention in reducing the global cancer burden.

Key preventable risk factors include:

✔ to***co use
✔ alcohol consumption
✔ excess body weight
✔ physical inactivity
✔ air pollution
✔ ultraviolet radiation
✔ cancer-related infections (included for the first time at this scale)

The leading preventable cause of cancer worldwide remains to***co use, accounting for 15% of all new cases, followed by infections (10%) and alcohol consumption (3%).

Nearly half of all preventable cancer cases globally are attributed to three cancer types:
— lung cancer
— stomach cancer
— cervical cancer

Their causes are well established: smoking and air pollution, Helicobacter pylori infection, and human papillomavirus (HPV).

The findings also reveal significant differences between regions and between men and women, underlining the need for context-specific prevention strategies — including vaccination, to***co control, improved air quality, safer working conditions, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

👉 The key message is clear and encouraging: many cancer cases can be prevented before they develop.

At Comprehensive Cancer Care Vienna, we see prevention as a cornerstone of modern medicine:
• education and awareness
• personalized prevention strategies
• comprehensive medical check-ups
• long-term, patient-centered care

🤍 Taking care of your health starts long before a diagnosis.

❄️ Winter is an active season — but it is also the time when knee injuries increase significantly.

Why is the knee so vulnerable?

When skiing or snowboarding, the joint is exposed to high stress — especially during twisting movements and falls.

Most commonly, doctors see:
✔ meniscus injuries
✔ ligament tears
✔ knee instability
✔ pain caused by overuse

It is important not to delay diagnosis:
🔍 to understand the nature of the injury
🩺 to determine whether surgery is necessary or conservative treatment is possible
🧘‍♂️ to develop an individual rehabilitation plan

Mavie Med Private Hospitals in Vienna stand for:

• a structured medical approach
• modern diagnostic and treatment methods
• an interdisciplinary team
• continuous care — from the first consultation to a safe return to an active life

📩 If your knee is causing discomfort after winter sports, we are happy to help:
consultation, second opinion, or preventive check-up.
