“Attention is your superpower — learn to use it wisely.” ✨

I’d heard this phrase for years.
But I only really grasped it once mindfulness became part of my life.

>> Attention keeps us present.
And when we’re present, we have a choice:

to PAUSE …
and to RESPOND skilfully - instead of being swept along by habits that don’t serve us.

Those habits might look familiar:

• pushing ourselves too hard
• getting defensive when we feel challenged
• being constantly busy
• putting our wellbeing last
(and probably a few more you could add!)

Eight years ago, during my first mindfulness course, I learned something foundational:

🌿 What I pay attention to and how I pay attention .. shapes my experience, and ultimately my life.

Since then, learning to work with my attention has helped me:

• focus on what really matters
• bounce back faster from stress or low mood
• let go of setbacks instead of getting stuck
• move towards my goals while still caring for myself

And here’s the encouraging part: attention is trainable.

Thanks to our brain’s neuroplasticity, attention training sits at the heart of every evidence-based mindfulness programme.

If you’re curious to explore this for yourself, I’d love to invite you to my upcoming'Mindfulness for Life' course.

🗓 Jan 27 – March 31 | Tuesdays, 18:00–20:30
📍 , 1060 Vienna | 🌱 Includes a (silent) day retreat

Developed by the Oxford Mindfulness Centre (University of Oxford), this experiential, evidence-based programme supports sustainable wellbeing and resilience.

Looking to gift yourself (or someone you care about) a wellbeing journey this Christmas 🎁?

Don't miss reading this!

We often know what’s good for us…
yet turning that knowledge into consistent, healthy habits can feel surprisingly hard.
(Speaking from experience — my relationship with exercise is very much a work in progress 😉)

What I’ve learned over time is this:
✨ real change happens within a clear, supportive structure -
one that offers accountability, feels invitational, and creates a safe space to reflect, explore, and learn together.

This is exactly the spirit my colleague and I are bringing to the 2nd edition of our “Cornerstones of Resilience” series, starting this January.

By combining our expertise, we’ve created a holistic, science-backed programme that looks at wellbeing and resilience in an integrated way - and empowers participants to take matters into their own hands 🌱

✨ What we’ll explore together:

Rest, Sleep & Recovery
Mindfulness
Flexibility
Emotions
Care & Connection
Food & Physical Activity

Hosting the first edition was such a joy - and the feedback was incredibly encouraging (some of it shared in this carousel post).

✨ Looking for a moment of calm in a world that often feels chaotic?

Join us for a Mindful Forest Walk this autumn in Vienna 🌲 - an invitation to slow down, connect with nature’s changing colours, and explore the gentle art of letting go.

Research shows that tuning into our senses helps us step out of negative thought loops and navigate life’s challenges with more ease. In their recent book 'Better in Every Sense', Norman Farb and Zindel Segal reveal how sensory awareness can transform our wellbeing - and we’ll bring some of those insights to life on this walk.

🌿 Together, we’ll practise “sense foraging” as we move with the rhythm of the forest, pausing to share a few poems along the way.
🫖 Afterwards, we’ll gather at a nearby Heuriger for a warm drink, reflection, and conversation.

You’ll leave feeling grounded, hopeful, and equipped with simple practices for everyday life.

🌿 Sometimes we just need to pause

I regularly run silent day retreats as part of the 8-week mindfulness courses I teach — but the one coming up this November is different.

It is open to anyone who would like to take time out from the busyness of everyday life and engage in a range of mindfulness practices.

It’s especially suitable for those with little or no prior experience.

🌿 Why join a retreat?

When life gets busy, our inner climate can struggle to stay balanced. Taking time to pause and reflect on how we live and respond to change helps us realign with what truly matters.

This urban day retreat is designed to help you reconnect with yourself and experience the benefits of meditation in a supportive setting.

Retreat Details

✨Moment-to-Moment: Meditation Immersion
📅 Sunday, 09 November 2025 | 11:00 – 16:00
📍 1060 Vienna
💶 EUR 88 | 78 (for ReTreat members)
(includes a light lunch 🥗)

🌱 What makes this retreat special

Unlike a regular class or meditation app, this immersive day offers space to explore a variety of practices (e.g. body scan, sitting, mindful movement, walking, journaling .. ) in a seamless flow — away from everyday distractions. You’ll also gain insight into the science and mechanisms that make mindfulness so effective.

Consider joining if you’d like to:

✓ Spend a restorative day in community with like-minded people
✓ Reset and kick-start positive change in your life
✓ Experience different meditation practices — and understand how they work
✓ Explore whether meditation is a path you’d like to deepen

I look forward to guiding you through this immersive journey!

Joining details are in the link in my bio — hope you can make it! 🍀

Feeling very excited about offering another ‘Mindfulness for Life’ course this autumn in ! 💥

I’ve been consistently offering this evidence-based curriculum over the past three years, as I am deeply encouraged by the feedback of participants.

This carousel post conveys some of this feedback, in response to a simple question I ask:

‘Why would you recommend this course to a family member or good friend?’ ⭐

This experiential programme, developed in collaboration with , is not only rooted in both psychological science and ancient wisdom, but really takes you by the hand .. teaching you self-regulation skills that can be easily applied in everyday life.

Foundational for this is strengthening the awareness of reactive patterns of thinking and behaving that often keep us stuck in states of stress, anxiety or low mood.

When we learn to respond more skilfully to the ups and downs of everyday life, we begin to feel calmer, happier and more fulfilled human beings.

So, this course is really for EVERYONE who would like to improve their wellbeing AND that of the people around them >>

🌻when we are present, steady and more in control, this naturally ripples out into our families, friends and professional circles.

So, if you’re living in Vienna, do consider joining or letting others know about this opportunity!

✨ Still feeling deeply inspired after last week’s Annual Gathering of Oxford Mindfulness in beautiful Marlow.

🎉 The event marked 30 years of MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) - celebrating the journey of the 8-week programme that’s impacted lives around the world. It was both moving and deeply insightful.

💫 A personal highlight? Meeting Professor Mark Williams - whose book ‘Mindfulness: Finding Peace in a Frantic World’ was my first introduction to mindfulness back in 2018.

That book, and the course it’s based on, helped guide me toward becoming a mindfulness teacher myself. Hearing him speak in person (and yes, his voice is as calming in real life) was such a gift.

I also got to connect - in person - with so many wonderful colleagues + fellow teachers. Truly heartwarming and energising to be part of a global community with deeply shared values.

And on a personal note… I got to spend an evening with my sister, who travelled up from London just to meet me. A sweet reminder that professional and personal nourishment can absolutely go hand-in-hand 🌱
Feeling nourished after this time away and looking forward to my classes and starting again this week!

Hope you can join! 🌸

On Sunday, we walked through Vienna .. attentive, curious, present .. no rushing, no destination .. a gentle, calm energy emerging that stood in stark contrast to the busyness around us.

It was a big pleasure to guide our first mindful walk in Vienna along the bustling Ringstrasse.

A big thank you to my dear colleague, Zeynep Ağacıkoğlu , who organised and guided the walk with me.

Together we explored ways to stay present with ourselves and our surroundings:

🌦️The changing weather gave us ample opportunity to practise with.

🏛️The eye-catching Viennese architecture was a feast for the eyes.

🚦The red pedestrian traffic lights invited us to pause and look around.

🌳We took a break at the , enjoyed some fruit bites 🍓 (mindfully ) and sought shelter under pergolas when the rain started.

We walked 5 km as part of the ‘Mindful Mile’ fundraiser organised by Mindfulness to increase access to mindfulness training, helping people achieve greater well-being and improved mental health.

A similar mindful walk was organised in on the same day, and three more walks are planned in , and next Sunday. So, if you happen to be in any of these locations, do consider joining!

There is so much strength in communities coming together for a good cause!

A heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to all our ‚mindful walkers’ and everyone who supported us with generous donations!

Did you know that you can practise mindfulness 'on the go’? 🚶🏼‍♂️‍➡️🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️🚶🏼‍➡️

A mindful walking practice can be so supportive, as you can very easily integrate it into your daily life and reap the rewards of feeling grounded and steady.

If you are living in our beautiful Austrian capital and would like the opportunity to slow down and support your wellbeing in a different kind of way, make sure not to miss our upcoming community event on Sunday, May 18.

We will be walking along the popular boulevard, Ringstrasse, and guiding you to be present on your walking journey: perhaps paying attention to the physical sensations as you walk or by taking in the beautiful scenery enroute.

You may ask: how can I immerse myself in the practice while being surrounded by the sounds of the city?

Well, that’s exactly the point 😊 we are practising being present and grounded whilst noticing both traffic and nature sounds >> which are part of everyday life!

You are invited to walk 5k with the first 1,6 k walking together mindfully. You are free to join the event for the whole 5K walk, part of the route or to come along for the initial 1,6 k.

💡 It’s also a wonderful opportunity to explore Vienna’s sights through a fresh lens. You may be surprised by what you notice 🙂

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 This community event is suitable for everyone (big & small), who would like to experience a mindfulness practice ‘on the go’, by awakening the senses! So, consider bringing your families along!

My colleague Zeynep and I will be your guides! We are both certified mindfulness instructors.

🌿 We are creating awareness about how mindfulness can be accessible to everyone, and how regular practice can support wellbeing and resilience.

** This event is part of our ongoing collaboration with who is launching a series of fund-raising mindful walks in different cities **

to read about why recent participants would recommend the course to a family member or good friend (a question I ask when they've completed the programme).

This course is not only scientifically researched and developed (Oxford Mindfulness Centre | University of Oxford) but is also practical and really helps us gain insight into patterns of thinking and behaviour that do not serve us.

Through this strengthened awareness, and learning a set of self-regulating skills, you can begin to let go of habits that keep you feeling stuck, anxious and overwhelmed.

This programme teaches sustainable skills for LIFE. It is evidence-based and has helped many people build resilience and lead more balanced & fulfilled lives.

If this is something you’d like to explore, please get in touch. I’d be happy to offer you a free consultation.
