🎉 We are pleased to welcome ASST Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda from Milan, Italy to IASIOS community as an Enrolled Centre.

We warmly congratulate Dr. Simone Bongiovanni, Dr. Alice Phillips, and the whole IR team for their commitment to complying with international standards and delivering high-quality care in interventional oncology.

ASST Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda is also a recipient of the First Year Forward Grant 2026, an initiative supporting five European hospitals committed to strengthening and advancing interventional oncology services, kindly sponsored by Boston Scientific.

With this milestone, Italy continues to strengthen its presence within IASIOS. Today, the IASIOS community in Italy is the largest in the world, reflecting a strong national commitment to quality, collaboration, and excellence in IO care.

🎉 CHUM - Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal has set a benchmark for interventional oncology in Canada as the country’s first IASIOS Accredited Centre!

By achieving IASIOS accreditation, CHUM demonstrated compliance with the CIRSE Standards of Quality Assurance in Interventional Oncology, reflecting a structured approach to interventional oncology care across treatment planning and delivery, safety and quality, as well as staff and facilities.

As one of Canada’s leading academic institutions, CHUM’s achievement highlights the growing international momentum behind standardised, patient-centred IO services and the integration of interventional oncology into comprehensive cancer care pathways.

From patient preparation and monitoring to procedural support, safety, communication, and post-procedure care, nurses contribute across every stage of the IO patient pathway. The accompanying word cloud, created from IASIOS Benchmarking Survey responses, reflects the wide range of responsibilities nurses take on in daily practice.

At IASIOS, we support nurses and radiographers through initiatives including complimentary CIRSE membership opportunities and dedicated educational workshops.
