Health is not a cost; it is a strategic investment in Europe’s future.

The European Society of Radiology supports the European Cancer Organisation and the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (EACH)'s initiative to the call for health to remain a standalone priority with strong, dedicated funding in the next European Commission long-term budget (2028–2034).

Investing in prevention, innovation, research and resilient healthcare systems strengthens not only public health but also Europe’s competitiveness, preparedness and long-term prosperity.

Cancer and cardiovascular disease together account for more than half of all deaths in Europe. Addressing this challenge requires sustained political commitment and coordinated European action. 🎗️❤️

A healthier EU is a stronger EU.

🧬⚡Quick quiz: step in, take a guess, and see how you stack up! 🏆

A newborn from a twin pregnancy (36+5 weeks) to consanguineous parents, with an older sibling affected by brain malformation and severe neurological deficits, presented with prenatal imaging results performed elsewhere that revealed hydrocephalus on foetal ultrasound, with subsequent foetal MRI suggesting aqueductal stenosis. Early infancy showed progressive hypotonia, high myopia, hearing loss, and disorganised multifocal electroencephalography (EEG) abnormalities.

What could the diagnosis be?
A) Fukuyama congenital muscular dystrophy (FCMD)
B) Walker–Warburg syndrome
C) Muscle–eye–brain (MEB) disease
D) Merosin-deficient congenital muscular dystrophy
