The final working day of the year, spent with our support team in the lab.
Our engineers were demonstrating why load balancing is critical in network visibility.
When traffic moves from a 100G network link to 10G monitoring tools, it doesn’t slow down smoothly. It arrives in bursts.
Without proper load balancing in a Network Packet Broker, those bursts overwhelm tools and packets get dropped.
The GUI showed it clearly: quiet packet loss, no alarms, just missing data and reduced visibility. This is precisely why an NPB isn’t just about forwarding traffic.
It’s about distributing load intelligently and protecting tools from speed mismatches, especially during peak moments.
A great reminder of the engineering thinking behind reliable network visibility.
Wishing everyone a strong year-end and a great start to the year ahead.
