The Schools as Community Centres support families with young children birth to eight years with a particular focus on the years prior to school entry. Each Schools as Community Centre project responds to the needs of local families with children by providing a range of activities such as supported playgroups, transition to school, early literacy programs, health and nutrition initiatives and parenting programs. Koe-nara is based in the grounds of Cessnock Public School on the corner of Rawson & Quarrybylong Sts, Aberdare.

Our first program for 2026 is (drum roll !!) Tuning in to Kids!
We will be running this program with the wonderful Koe-nara, Cessnock Schools as Community Centre in February and March. Registrations are Essential and there will be childcare available for children under school age. Places are limited, so contact us early to secure your spot
