Do you want information and ideas about how to support or motivate a child or teen? If so, you might like to go to our our articles and ideas page at www.developingminds.net.au/articles. Here there are a range of free articles about caring for young people (eg helping teens with sleeping problems, ideas about sibling fights, knowing what to ask about facebook and many more). As well as these one page articles, we have more extensive resources for teens in senior school and their parents. If you want to purchase "The Years that Count" or another one of our products, visit the Products page. You can also sign up for our free e-newsletters which give regular advice about caring for young people. Everyone who signs up for the enewsletter automatically receives via email a free report on Six Ways to Help Students through Senior School. Kirrilie has a brilliant range of articles on her website which I often recommend to parents. Teachers: Do you want your students to know how to motivate themselves, manage stress and avoid social networking disasters? Or the parents at your school to learn about supporting and communicating with teens? If so, click here on seminars to find out about the training and education we conduct in schools and community organisations. We help teenagers with ideas about how to manage their time,
emotions, relationships, exam preparation and study life. We also help parents, health professionals, educators and youth workers know how to care for, work with and communicate with the next generation. Kirrilie has spoken to more than 30,000 people in audiences Australia-wide and her seminars and approach has been featured via the media (5AA, The Advertiser, Today Tonight, Channel Nine News, The Messenger, Madison Magazine and others). Kirrilie’s presentation was a stunning exemplar of good teaching practices. She was vibrant, lively and articulate, giving excellent practical advice to the students and she had a sense of humour! She kept her audience captivated for the entire hour. Year 12 Co-ordinator, Siena College

📣📣Can you help tell this story?
We’ve been contacted by a journalist interested in covering our Fix Medicare for Child Mental Health campaign. They’d like to speak with a parent of a child under 12 who has experienced the challenges of the current Medicare rules which limit ‘parent-only’ sessions with their child’s psychologist to just **two per year** (meaning that Medicare doesn’t fund or allow parent-directed therapy — even though it’s often the most effective way to improve a young child’s mental health).
If you are a parent who:
✨Have a child under 12, and
✨Have been affected by these limits of 2 per year (i.e. can't get enough help to know how to support your child, can't talk to your child's psychologist about sensitive topics without your child listening in)
✨Would be willing to share your experience publicly in a news story…
…we would love to hear from you.
‼Important‼: Sharing your story is completely voluntary of course - and if you are a current or past client of our service, your decision will have no impact on your care, your relationship with our team, or access to our services.
If you are willing to do this - please email 📩kirriliesmout@developingminds.net.au with the subject line Media Story - and remember only do so if you are completely comfortable .
And if you'd like to learn more about the campaign then you can go to
