The Three Sisters of the Moon
Long ago, when the Earth and Sky still spoke to one another through fire and song, there were three sisters born under the same moon. Each was given a sacred gift from the Great Spirit, for they were chosen to be keepers of balance between the People and the universe.
The first sister wore blue, the color of water and sky. She was the Keeper of Dreams. Her gift was to guide the hearts of the People when they slept, sending visions through the rivers of the night so they would remember their purpose.
The second sister wore white, the color of the moon and dawn. She was the Keeper of Spirit. Her gift was to remind the People that they were more than flesh—that their souls were eternal, walking both this world and the next.
The third sister wore red, the color of earth and fire. She was the Keeper of Strength. Her gift was to teach the People endurance, courage, and the power to rise again after every hardship.
Together they stood beneath the crescent moon, watching over the People. The stars became their eyes, the wind their breath, and the sun their eternal companion. The People knew that whenever they looked to the night sky, they would never be alone—for the Three Sisters were always there, guarding, guiding, and blessing.
Even today, when the moon glows and three stars shine close together, the elders tell their children:
“Look to the heavens. The Sisters are watching. They remind us to dream with courage, to live with spirit, and to walk in strength.”
