As we approach the festive season, we would like to inform our patients of our Christmas and New Year closure period.

The practice will be closed from 2:00 pm on Wednesday 24 December 2025 and will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday 5 January 2026.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

It’s a day to honour the memories of those we’ve lost to su***de and to offer support to those facing difficult times and those living with the grief of losing someone.

The message of ‘Changing the Narrative on Su***de’ encourages us to change how we talk about su***de. To replace silence and stigma for empathy, compassion and action.

We all have a role to play in staying connected, showing up for those we care about and helping those struggling access the support they need.

Show the people around you that you’re there for them by asking 'are you OK?'. Because a conversation could change a life.

Abermain Surgery welcomes Dr Sophie Kerr 😁 :
I completed my medical degree at the University of New England and undertook my internship at Prince of Wales Hospital. From 2016 to 2024, I worked in the Intensive Care Unit at John Hunter Hospital, gaining extensive experience in acute and critical care. In 2025, I commenced General Practice training, with particular interests in women’s health and paediatrics. I have also completed a Diploma of Child Health. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my children, exploring nature and staying active together.
Dr Sophie Kerr is at Abermain Monday, Thursday and Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
