Entrepreneur Bernadette Eriksen is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Flavour Creations, a Brisbane-based $20 million food manufacturing company that researches and develops innovative dysphagia and nutrition products intended to support a healthy lifestyle and improve the lives of thousands living with dysphagia. Flavour Creations supplies to hospitals, residential aged care facilities and directly to consumers living in the community - both in Australia and internationally. What started out as an idea on Bernadette’s kitchen bench in the late 1990’s has become an international success story, after she discovered a gap in the market for providing food and drink solutions that not only taste great but offer maximum nutritional density and enhance quality of life. Flavour Creations is now recognised as a global leader for innovation in the industry, producing more than 100,000 cups of pre-thickened liquid per day alongside a growing range of targeted food first nutritional solutions, employing over 100 staff locally and restoring dignity and independence to thousands of people all over the world. Bernadette was named a Finalist in the Innovation & Technology category at the recent 2016 Brisbane Region Women in Business Awards. She has also been shortlisted in the Commonwealth Bank Business Owner Award, the Nokia Innovation Award and was a finalist in two categories of the 2009 Telstra Business Women’s Awards.

What a great week we had during Wounds Awareness Week last week!

We’re proud to have taken part in this important national initiative, shining a light on the impact of chronic wounds and highlighting the crucial role that nutrition plays in healing and prevention.

The Flavour Creations team have been connecting with university students and educators, clinical nurses, dietitians, aged care providers, and community services.

With one clear message: Wounds affect everyone. Nutrition matters in wound care.

Whether we were sharing knowledge, sparking conversations over morning tea, the week was filled with education, collaboration, and passion.

We’re proud to have:

Today, the Flavour Creations team proudly attended the Wounds Australia Morning Tea at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, supporting Wound Awareness Week.

This important initiative shines a light on the challenges faced by more than 450,000 Australians living with chronic wounds.

We heard from Professor Fiona Wood AO and Wounds Australia CEO Jeff Antcliff, who shared powerful insights into wound care, prevention and the importance of education. We also toured the Wound Care Clinic, where patient stories were shared.

At Flavour Creations, we’re passionate about supporting people living with wounds every day.

Let’s keep raising awareness to reduce the stigma, stress and long-term impact that chronic wounds can have on daily life. 💙
