Without understanding the full picture of what’s happening in your gut, it can feel overwhelming 😮‍💨

You are unique, you have your own health history, symptoms, and biology 🌿

Protein is one of the hardest things for the body to break down, and if you’re low in digestive enzymes, it can sit in your gut longer than it should, leading to that heavy, bloated feeling.

Instead of removing protein (which your body really needs for things like hormone balance, energy and muscle support), we want to support your ability to digest it properly.

A couple of simple ways to start:

🍵 Ginger tea before meals can help stimulate digestion

💊 Digestive enzymes can support the breakdown of protein

🍽️ Chew your food well...... digestion starts in the mouth

If you are bloating after protein, this is a sign to look at your gut health as a whole.
Because when your digestion is working well, you will not feel bloated/heavy/gassy after food.

Your digestive symptoms are always giving you clues to what your body needs

Just because your results fall within the “normal range” doesn’t always mean they’re optimal for:

⚡ Energy
😊 Mood
🌿 Gut health
⚖️ Hormonal balance
🔥 Metabolism
❤️ Cardiovascular Health
🥝 Immune Health

If you are feeling flat, tired, inflamed, and not quite yourself, but have been told.....… everything looks fine.

This is where we need to look a little deeper 🔍

🩸 What was actually tested?
📅 When was it tested?
📊 Where are those levels sitting within the range?

Because your symptoms are never random.
They’re often the first sign that your body needs a bit more support 💛

That is where we come in!

We help you to determine what has been missed and what needs further investigation.

This doesn't happen in a 10-minute consultation!
It may take us an hour in your initial appointment reviewing what has already been tested, unpack your health timeline, where things started to go pear shaped, what environmental/emotional/physiological/biochemical changes were taking place at that time......etc.

Your health history is unique, and it takes time and patience to uncover the underlying drivers that need to be addressed for you to achieve your health goals.

Can we help?

Let's chat in a free consultation. Perhaps you would be better to see an Osteopath, a counsellor, craniosacral therapist.....we want you to be well and will point you in the right direction.

Self care is looking after the only body you have!

It’s eating proper meals instead of skipping or grabbing whatever’s easy
It’s saying no when your plate is already full
It’s going to bed earlier because your body is exhausted
It’s getting outside for a walk instead of another hour on your phone
It’s giving yourself a bit of space when things feel overwhelming

It’s not always glamorous, but it’s what actually supports your body and your nervous system

This is the kind of self-care that creates real change

Eggs are one of the most underrated “superfoods”… simple, affordable, and incredibly nutrient-dense 🥚

They’re a complete protein, which means they contain all the essential amino acids your body needs for repair, muscle health, and keeping you full

They’re also rich in healthy cholesterol, which is essential for hormone production. Your hormones are literally built from cholesterol, so avoiding it completely can work against you

Eggs contain powerful antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin, which support eye health and help protect against oxidative stress

And one of the biggest benefits? Choline
A nutrient many people are deficient in, yet it’s critical for brain function, liver health, and methylation pathways

Simple foods often do the most heavy lifting when it comes to your health

You can take all the supplements in the world
Follow the perfect diet
Do all the “right” things…

But if you’re running on empty, constantly stressed, disconnected, and exhausted
Your body will struggle to heal

These basics are not optional
They are the pillars that everything else is built on

When you start treating them as non-negotiables
That’s when real change begins ✨

What’s really driving your painful periods?

Painful periods are often dismissed as “normal”… but they’re actually a sign that something deeper is going on.

Here are some of the most common underlying drivers:

• Inflammation
Inflammation increases prostaglandins, the chemicals responsible for uterine contractions and pain. The higher the inflammation, the more intense the cramps :(

• Oestrogen dominance
When oestrogen is too high relative to progesterone, it can lead to heavier, more painful periods, breast tenderness, and mood changes.

• Endometriosis
A condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, often causing severe pain, inflammation, and sometimes fertility challenges.

• Gut dysbiosis
Your gut plays a key role in hormone balance. An imbalanced microbiome can impair oestrogen detoxification, contributing to hormone-driven pain and inflammation.

Painful periods are common… but they are not something you should have to live with every month.

When we address the root cause, not just the symptoms, with nutritional, lifestyle and herbal remedies, we see measurable changes ✨

Get the basics of good nutrition & self care right before diving into any intense gut healing protocol.
Gut healing looks different for everyone as it really depends on your underlying drivers.

Some options could be; hydrogen pylori, SIBO, IMO, histamines, gall/liver issues, stress, thyroid, autoimmune disease, structural issues etc.......

This is why we recommend to test, do not guess, what is driving your gut symptoms.

Testing may start with blood work, urine/saliva testing or a stool test.

A great place to start is to keep a good record of food/water intake alongside your exercise, stress, sleep etc.

We have a great diet/symptom diary tracker available under free stuff on our website www.tonicnaturalhealth.com.au

From here we can help you to determine your next best steps for testing/healing 🙂
