Functional Hypertrophy for ACL Rehab
The quads are the first line of defence for the knees when it comes to absorbing load and creating stability around the joint. Developing high levels of movement ability, mobility, hamstring calf and glute strength, force absorption, and sport specific loading are all necessary…but the first priority needs to be getting the quads strong, big, and functional at all joint angles.
longish performed plenty of shrimp squat and deficit sissy squat variations throughout the course of his ACL rehab. On top of this he hit PB squat and deadlift numbers and did tonnes of jumping, sprinting, sled dragging, and sport specific agility work.
What makes method unique is the deep understanding of how to combine the tools of conventional barbell training, bodyweight strength, mobility work, and plyometric/sport specific work based on your individual level and each stage in your knee rehab journey.
