And that’s a wrap! What a massive three days the team had at the National OT Conference this week! Hosting a booth at a conference like this is a mammoth effort, we lost count of the literally hundreds of people we spoke to across the three days, I’m surprised we have any voice left between us! We’re so excited to hear all the amazing comments and feedback the OTs in attendance had about our brand new Sensaroos characters. We can’t wait to roll out these resources in the coming few months so stay tuned! Thanks to everyone who popped by and said hello!

🌟 Meet Stuck! 🌟

Age: 5 | Year: 1
Strength: Careful and thoughtful — he notices all the little details and always thinks before he acts
Challenge: Prefers to keep his feet on the ground — climbing, swinging, or being lifted can feel uncomfortable

Sensory Profile: Vestibular Over-Responsive / Avoidant – Stuck’s balance system is extra sensitive. Movements like spinning, swinging, or jumping might feel unsafe or overwhelming for his body.

Stuck’s dream job? To become a structural engineer — building strong, steady things from the ground up! 🏗️🧠

🌪️ Meet Spin! 🌪️

Age: 5 | Reception
Strength: Loves to move! Whether she’s spinning, swinging, or zooming around — fast is her favourite speed!
Challenge: Needs extra support with balance — staying steady or sitting still can be tricky sometimes.

Sensory Profile: Vestibular Under-Responsive / Seeker – Spin’s brain needs lots of movement input to feel “just right.” She often seeks out spinning, jumping, and hanging upside-down to help her stay focused and regulated.

Spin dreams of soaring through the air as an aerial acrobat — or maybe even running her own show ride at the carnival one day! 🎪🤸‍♀️🎡

🌟 Meet Spikesy! 🌟

Age: 7 | Year: 2
Strength: Loves being active — running, jumping, and playing sport is her happy place!
Support Need: Doesn’t like unexpected touch — things like tags, messy textures, or bumping into others can feel uncomfortable

Sensory Profile: Tactile Over-Responsive – Spikesy’s sense of touch is extra sensitive. This means her body notices touch more quickly or intensely than others, which can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Spikesy shines on the soccer field — and she dreams of being a goalkeeper, where she’s in control of her space and can focus on the game (without the unexpected high-fives! ⚽🧤)

Age: 7 | Year: 2
Strength: Incredibly curious — she loves to explore the world with her hands and learn by doing!
Challenge: Needs lots of touch input and often touches everything around her to stay engaged and regulated

Sensory Profile: Tactile Under-Responsive / Seeker – Otto’s brain doesn’t always register touch in the same way others do, so she seeks out more touch to feel connected to her environment.

Otto is all about hands-on learning — she’s always stacking, sorting, and exploring textures. That’s why she dreams of becoming a shelf stacker when she grows up, where she can keep her hands busy in just the right way! 🛒👐

Strength: A super-sensitive nose – he can pick up on scents that others don’t even notice!
Challenge: Strong or unexpected smells can be a bit too much sometimes

Sensory Profile: Olfactory Over-Responsive – Snozz’s brain is extra alert to smells. This means he might notice scents more intensely than others, and some smells can feel overwhelming.

Snozz is fascinated by science and space — and he’s got his sights set on becoming an astronaut! 🚀🪐
With his strong sense of smell and love of calm, controlled environments, he’s ready to explore new worlds (with the right gear, of course!).

Sniff is passionate about flavours, food, and trying new things — she dreams of becoming a restaurant critic one day! 🍽️👃
