We are thrilled to welcome Paul Rodda as the new General Manager of Pecan Lighting! 🎉
Paul brings a wealth of experience and an impressive track record, having started his journey with Spark Furniture, our sister company, as Business Development Manager in June 2018. He swiftly moved up to the role of General Manager in August 2020, a position he continues to excel in.
With a strong background in Sales, Commercial Business Development, and Key Account Management, coupled with a proven history in the Construction Industry, Paul's expertise is second to none. He holds an MBMA specializing in Drama and Communications from the University of South Australia, along with Diplomas in Business Management and Interior Design & Architecture.
Paul's appointment as General Manager of Pecan Lighting marks an exciting and proud moment for us. His vision for innovative development will drive Pecan Lighting forward in new and exciting directions. The synergy between Spark Furniture and Pecan Lighting under his leadership promises to bring numerous project advantages and opportunities for our clients in both design and development sectors.

LED lighting has become a popular choice for street lighting, as it offers energy efficiency and a long lifespan. Our company not only supplies LED lights for streets but also caters to the needs of reserves and carparks. For instance, the supply of our NXT-C series in Grey at Collins Reserve in Kidman Park, South Australia.

The installation of LED lighting at Collins Reserve has improved visibility and safety throughout the reserve, driveway, and carpark. LED lights provide bright and clear illumination, enhancing the overall aesthetics while prioritizing visitor well-being.

As our sister company Rowlands Metalworks said an emotional goodbye to one of their dedicated employees Anne le Clercq who retired as General Manager with Rowlands, it too was a sad day for us here at Pecan Lighting. Anne was not only dedicated to Rowlands but she was very much involved with Pecan Lighting in many ways also. Her guidance, training, leadership and friendship with us all, will be one that we will miss. From all of us at Pecan Lighting we wish you all the best on your retirement and may life take you on many adventures in the future.

When was the last time you looked up into the night sky and actually seen the sky filled with stars?

The stars have always captivated human imagination, but increasingly, they have become a rare sight above us. Light pollution, which is increasing at twice the rate of population growth, is robbing us of the breathtaking beauty of a starry night sky. To make matters worse, a staggering 83% of the global population lives under a light-polluted sky. However, with our efficient and sustainable LED lighting solutions, we can minimize light pollution and protect our beloved night skies. So, this International Dark Skies Week 15th - 22nd April 2023, let's all become a part of the solution and turn off unnecessary lights. Go outside and witness the magnificent display of stars above us. Let's celebrate the beauty of our night sky and remind ourselves about the significance of protecting it.

Innovating lighting at Tonsley Innovation District South Australia.

This site was the former Mitsubishi Production Assembly plant until 2008 when it closed it's doors.
It has since be transformed into a high tech Innovation Hub for more than 35 businesses from Mining, Renewable Energy, Medical and Technology.

It's also home to Flinders University's teaching and research in computer science, artificial intelligence, Defence and national securities, autonomous vehicles, information technology, engineering and mathematics.

Tonsley Innovation District was built to inspire innovation across key industry sectors, Tonsley brings together a number of land uses on its 61-hectare site including high-value industry and commercial, education and training, retail and residential.

The lighting used on site for Carparks, Roadways and Pathway lighting are our NXT series LED Lighting in Compact and Medium fixtures.

In 2019 an assessment had identified that the old Causeway was approaching the end of its useful life. The new causeway was completed in 2021. In the process of the new causeway being constructed the design was to leave ends of the old causeway in tack as viewing platforms, one on either end. On these ends are Jetty Mount 200w Solar with the NXT Compact Lighting supplied by Pecan Lighting. These have been installed in December 2022 with an eco-friendly LED engine designed to emit a softer orange light for sea and land animals.
