💙 A little update about after-hours appointments

To help us continue providing care when you need it most, there are additional fees for consultations outside of standard hours. This includes:
✨ Weekends
✨ Public holidays
✨ And from 1st October 2025, all appointments booked after 5pm on weekdays

These fees help us cover the extra costs of running an after-hours service, while ensuring our team can be here for you when it matters most.

Feedback relating to individual tenant provider businesses has been passed on to them directly for their consideration.

In response to your suggestions, we’ve:
✅ Improved sound in the waiting room for your comfort and to improve your privacy.
✅ Set up a dedicated feedback email: feedback@thegmc.com.au
✅ Updated our reception team’s LGBTQIA+ training to ensure we continue to provide an inclusive and welcoming environment.
✅ Provided more options for patient identification at check-in — if you’d prefer not to give details verbally at reception, you’re welcome to present a driver’s license or similar ID.
🔒 Patient identification remains really important, as it helps protect your safety and ensures accurate records.

Big News from GMC! ❤️
Today, the Glengowrie Medical Complex had the honour of hosting The Hon Mark Butler, Minister for Health and Aged Care, Ms Louise Miller-Frost MP, Federal Member for Boothby, and Mr David Lloyd, CEO of the Heart Foundation, for a special announcement:
👉 Another 3 years of funding for Healthy Heart Checks!

This is a big win for preventative health and for our local community — giving more Australians access to potentially life-saving heart health assessments with their GP.

As David Lloyd shared during his visit:
"The Healthy Heart Check is likely to be one of the most important things you can do to prevent future heart disease — it all starts with a conversation with your GP."

We couldn’t agree more. Preventing heart disease starts with awareness, early detection, and simple steps guided by your GP — and it all begins with that first chat.
A Heart Health Check is recommended for:
✔️ Everyone aged 45 and over
✔️ Everyone aged 30 and over if you’re Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
