Improving handwriting legibility is about so much more than just copying letters! ✍️ Our Occupational Therapists support handwriting by looking at the whole child.
We begin with the foundations like posture, hand strength, and the ability to cross the midline, as these play a big role in writing readiness.
We also consider how a child sees and processes visual information like tracking and eye-hand coordination 👀
Letter knowledge is introduced in fun and multi-sensory ways using movement, tactile tools, and play-based activities that help learning stick 🎨🧠
We teach letters in movement-based groups so children learn consistent patterns, not just isolated shapes ⚪️⬜️
And when it comes to legibility, spacing, sizing, and line placement are just as important. We help kids understand how to place tall, small, and hanging letters clearly on the page ✏️
Our approach blends two evidence-based programs to build confident and capable writers who feel proud of their work.
