Whether you are setting up the fireplace, snuggling in with a hot drink, or cooking up a feast in the kitchen, there can be risks of minor burns.

Most burns will heal themselves in 10 to 12 days. If the burn doesn’t have any blisters, a simple moisturiser such as sorbolene is the best treatment.

For all other burns, seek medical advice for appropriate dressings.

National Diabetes Week 2025 is held from July 13 – 19 and is all about raising awareness of diabetes.

South Australia has the highest rate of diabetes in the country. There are over 122,000 South Australians diagnosed with diabetes, and a further 180,000 people aged 25 years or older at risk of diabetes.

This year we aim to turn the focus on the importance health checks for people living with diabetes.

Healthdirect can provide advice and help you find the best care, such as a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, 24/7 pharmacy, or virtual care service, who can refer you to a local service if you need an in-person appointment, such as a Priority Care Centre.
