✨ Honoured & Grateful ✨

A heartfelt thank you to the Pakistani Medical Association of South Australia (PMASA) for inviting me as a speaker at their scientific education meeting on Saturday, 23rd August.

It was a privilege to update our GP colleagues on the latest advancements in managing patients with symptomatic HOCM, particularly the role of the novel therapy Mavacamten.

I’m deeply humbled to have received a token of appreciation from the legendary Dr Abdul Bari Khan, renowned Cardiac Surgeon and Founder & CEO of the Indus Hospital & Health Network, Pakistan’s largest charity-based healthcare system.

Grateful for the opportunity to contribute to ongoing medical education and to share knowledge with such an engaged audience.

🙏 Thank you PMASA for the recognition and for fostering such a vibrant medical community here in South Australia.

Follow up from my previous post.

After per MDT plan, The patient was brought back to cath lab for re-assessment of Ostial LAD stenosis with intra coronary imaging and if significant stenosis then will be referred for CABG.

Invasive coronary angiography, while a valuable tool for diagnosing coronary artery disease, can sometimes overestimate angulated ostial lesions. This occurs because the two-dimensional images provided by angiography may not accurately capture the complex three-dimensional nature of the lesion.

To achieve a more accurate assessment, it is essential to complement angiography with intra-coronary imaging techniques such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) or optical coherence tomography (OCT). These advanced imaging modalities provide detailed cross-sectional views of the artery, allowing for a precise evaluation of the lesion's severity and morphology.

Therefore, integrating intra-coronary imaging with angiography is crucial for making informed decisions regarding patient management and treatment strategies.
