Northern Suburbs Mentors Wanted!!

Inclusive Sports Coaching focuses on 1 to 1 Sport and Physical Activity Coaching and Mentoring to help people with a Disability gain skills and confidence and meet the needs of their NDIS Plan Goals. Many people struggle in a group environment, so our 1 to 1 approach allows for focused coaching of motor skills, agility, balance, coordination, sport specific skills, communication and generally improving self-esteem when it comes to playing sport, interacting with others at school

Based on current and potential needs, I need more Partner Coaches to work with Clients aged from 5yo to Adults, across a range of sports and ball activities. Ideally you have good experience with Juniors and/or a “Community Level” accreditation in a specific sport. However, even if you don’t, you can have an interest in sports and a focus on helping those with a Disability.
Our sessions are 1 hour per week with each client at a regular day/time which you negotiate with the client and ideally using parks and facilities near the client’s home. This regulation of time and consistency in coach/mentor is a key part of my business approach.

Initially we would meet face to face for a catch up so I can explain the business in more detail and understand the types of clients you are most comfortable with, and any sports where you have specific qualifications or experience for our clients. Naturally you need a Working with Children Check, and ideally have done a First Aid course, and you must have your own vehicle.

As our model is a bit different in just doing 1 hour per week, it’s ideally suited to top up your other Disability work, you are Semi Retired or work Part Time and looking to help those with a Disability. Also great for those at University/TAFE doing a related course and looking for some extra money and practical experience in the industry. Based on this my Pay Rates are as follows, this is based on you travelling 20 minutes to a client.

Monday to Friday
$65 per session
Saturday
$90 per session
Sunday
$110 per session

Important Note: You would be engaged as a “Partner Coach” which means you are a Contractor so you require your own ABN and to look after your own Tax, GST, Superannuation etc. This also limits the amount of money you can earn with my business, and you should be able to use the work you do with my company to promote your own business to market your services for yourself.

Please send me a Private Message or email john@inclusiveitconsulting.com.au to express your interest and/or ask additional questions. Visit www.inclusivesportscoaching.com.au for more information.

We work with participants of all ages. I’ve had extremely happy parents and caregivers say their son or daughter used to sit by themselves at recess and lunch because they lacked the confidence and skills to play ball games.

With our 1 to 1 mentoring using sport as a vehicle, we help kids build their skills and therefore their self confidence, to feel they can join in with friends. As a parent all we want is for our kids to be happy and have friends, for those with a disability they sometimes need some help to achieve this basic but critical milestone.

A video I did a few years ago discussing cognitive and spatial challenges some people with a disability have, that may not be immediately obvious.

To help people achieve their plan goals, it’s important we ask questions and help the person gain a greater understanding of what they are doing.

Great unsolicited feedback from a Caregiver who also gave me a picture of "I" with a HUGE smile on his face. I passed this on to my Coach Syed to show how much he is helping his clients grow and develop and change their lives for the better.

"From 8 years of age when "I" was no longer able to play junior footy cause he was no longer allowed to have a ‘buddy’ on the field to now playing in the SANFL inclusive league so "I" can play footy again.

John, your program offers ongoing weekly 1:1 sessions, with your Mentor Syed using a preferred sport for "I" ( in this case AFL football) as the therapy conduit to holistically support "I".

Along with his Allied Health providers, you provide a vital service in complimenting what they do in a client-centric approach"

We provide 1 to 1 Mentoring, Sports and Physical Activities to help people gain skills in a safe and focused environment. Whether it's engaging in a range of sports and activities, or they have a chosen sport they love, we can do weekly 1 to 1 sessions in AFL, Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, Cricket and general physical activities and help motor skill development, balance, agility, dealing with challenges, taking instructions. From Onkaparinga to Elizabeth, let's have a chat to see how we can help achieve your NDIS Plan Goals.

For people with Autism, skill acquisition can be quite difficult. We use sport to help develop the skills to take instructions, build body position awareness, achieve milestones and improve their self-esteem.

"K" in the pics below has been working on her cricket with me for quite some time and is now standing up taller and bowling with more energy and accuracy. Her self-belief has increased significantly going from someone who at times refused to take part in her games, to now socialising with her teammates and engaging in all aspects of the game without question.

Feedback from a couple of different parents:

"Our son loves his sessions with Chol, he is great with him"

"Our OT has said they can see the benefits of what Emanuel is doing"

Love getting unsolicited feedback from parents

Really happy and proud for the Adelaide Inclusive Cricket League to be named as a Finalist in the Sport SA Awards.

Great to keep the recognition of our League going to let people know they have a safe and supportive environment to enjoy our great game if they want to.

Thanks to Jo Connolly at SACA for the nomination.

"A" working on dribbling the ball with the left hand, then when getting to the next set of cones switching to the right hand. Cognitively can be a challenge for some as focusing on going in between cones, dribbling the ball, preparing to change hands.

Good to improve decision making and focus, while also working motor skills.
