It is time for me to Retire and Close down by Inclusive Sports Coaching business.

I've had an amazing time after leaving a Global Corporate role to focus on how I might help others. With my first client in January 2021, myself and Partner Coaches/Mentors have provide 1 to 1 focused development for over 200 NDIS participants. The individuals and the families consistently told me how this service did so much good for those who struggled in group environments and how we helped them develop sport and physical skills, their self-esteem, gaining new friends and being able to join a team or a club for greater social engagement.

This is very humbling and satisfying feedback, but be assured I received so much benefit in working with individuals and families to help them do things like being able to play with friends at lunch time at school, through to having participants fulfil their sporting dreams by representing their State or Country.

Thank you to everyone who trusted me to use your funding to meet and exceed Plan goals, and to Support Coordinators, Plan Managers and other Service Providers who worked with me.

Most of the Coaches/Mentors who worked with me have taken on the clients directly and are open to working with more people. You may message me (John Lonergan) if you'd like me to put you in contact.

Contacted the Mum of a young boy I did sports with a couple of years ago to see how he is going.

“We have been speaking about you a lot lately John, watching the videos of him made me teary, he’s come so far. “N” has really thrived in sport since your sessions with him, and we also acknowledge that you were one of his first friends outside of our family which helped him develop as well. He now plays AFL and Soccer. His face just lit up when I mentioned you sent a message.”

This is why we do it.

Had my first session with an 11yo who loves his cricket but his autism causes him to lack self belief and struggle with the challenge of batting up the order.

I talked to him and said he could bat well, he just needed to focus on his good shots and that his coach seemed to believe he was good. We also did some things to help him bat longer.

He arrived this week and said he batted for 10 balls and then hit a boundary, 2 things he hadn’t done previously. He was walking taller, and Mum was very happy.

It’s not always about major successes, little advancements in self esteem and the family seeing their child happier is an awesome outcome.

We work with participants of all ages. I’ve had extremely happy parents and caregivers say their son or daughter used to sit by themselves at recess and lunch because they lacked the confidence and skills to play ball games.

Down South we have Blayke who lives in Seaford and has availability Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoons for Sport and Physical Activity Coaching. He can also provide general disability support.

We also have Noah who lives in Hackham and has availability on a Saturday morning or Monday afternoon.

With our 1 to 1 mentoring using sport as a vehicle, we help kids build their skills and therefore their self-confidence, to feel they can join in with friends. As a parent all we want is for our kids to be happy and have friends, for those with a disability they sometimes need some help to achieve this basic but critical milestone.
