Support Person, and Community Connector in Burton – 5 hours every Saturday

I am a young man living with my family in Burton, eager to build connections and engage in meaningful roles in my local community. I enjoy bowling, music, hiking, hosting parties, and cooking BBQs at gatherings. I am passionate about helping others, contributing to my community and caring for the environment through recycling. One day, I hope to have a place of my own to call home.

I am looking for someone to support me every Saturday, and help me become familiar with my local community. This role isn’t entirely defined, so I need a helping hand to explore and establish a routine.

I can be spontaneous but I do best when I have consistent, predictable and trusted support, who does not judge or make assumptions. You’ll hold space when things get messy, stay consistent when things get wobbly, and gently — but firmly — use everyday moments to teach, guide, and support everyday decision-making. It’s about being real, reliable, and respectful.

This role would suit someone who believes they can:

Make a positive and patient contribution to someone’s life
Appreciate the authority of family
Thoughtfully address challenges
Plan with someone to facilitate positive decision-making
Communicate with confidence and consistency
Teach and guide others toward informed and healthy choices
Provide long-term, familiar support that fosters trust and stability
I am seeking someone to support me for 5 hours on Saturdays 11:00am – 4:00pm, and, potentially a weekday evening once we get to know each other.

The role commences at level 2.1 casual rate of $43.23 per hour, Saturday loading apply (i.e., $60.52 per hour).

All applicants must have or be willing to obtain:

Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
A current NDIS Worker Check
First Aid Certificate

Support person - Southern Adelaide . I’m a 26-year-old woman looking for someone who can walk alongside me in my move into the city to study at UniSA. I have a clear idea on what I want my life to look like, but I cannot do all of it on my own.

Although I have lived independently before, I struggle to manage self-sufficient living to the fullest, both as a tenant and as a student. As such, one of my highest priorities is to help me build skills necessary for a successful work/life balance.

My studies will be my highest priority in the coming years, and along with wanting a great student life, I also want to integrate into Adelaide and its culture. This may include learning skills such as navigating the city efficiently and being active in many of Adelaide’s art festivals. I am living with a severe social phobia, which impacts my ability to mask and hold conversations with other people. I believe part of my success in moving will be to learn grounding techniques and maintaining both my mental and physical health.

I am looking for a person who is a calm, empathetic, only a bit older than me, a good listener, and gives me space when I need it most. However, they also need to help me with staying on track with my responsibilities, develop routines, and provide multiple options when I’m unsure on how to next proceed. Knowing Adelaide really well will also go a long way in supporting me.

My hobbies include Dungeons and Dragons, drawing, and video games. I love to talk about anime and all types of technology. I like going to fan conventions, and would like to learn more about cosplay, fashion, and fitness.

Requirements for position:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Compassionate and patient demeanour

• Ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and professionalism

• Basic computer skills

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Not negotiables:

First Aid certificate with CPR
NDIS worker check
National police check

Application is online via Employment Hero. See link in comments

Personal Assistant, mornings role: I’m a woman in my 30s, an inclusive educator, a walker, and a lover of theatre and the arts. I live in my own home and work full-time.

I’m looking for support from someone who can help me live a full and typical life — someone who can assist with my routines, help keep things running smoothly at home and support me to start each day feeling confident and ready for work.

The role includes:

• Going for a morning walk

• Getting through my chores to keep my home running smoothly

• Helping me keep track of time in the mornings

• Supporting me to plan for the day ahead and feel prepared and confident to step out the door

Who I’m looking for:

The right person will be curious, creative, and non-judgemental, with a sense of humour. It’s also important that they can balance mindfulness with initiative, encouraging and supporting me through my morning routine.

A background in supporting people with executive dysfunction, particularly with transitions, is advantageous, although what matters most is your willingness to learn and be present.

Availability:

I’m looking to hire two support workers to help me with my morning routine. The shifts are from 6:00am to 8:00am, Monday to Friday. Each person would usually work 2 to 3 mornings per week.

All applicants must have or willingness to obtain:

• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle

• A current NDIS worker check

• First Aid Certificate

If you’re passionate about making genuine connections and having a positive impact in your local community, we’d love to hear from you.

Support worker role | I am a man in my mid-fifties, living in my own home in Christie Downs with my cat. I love football and barrack for Port Power. I’m a 10-pin bowler and have plenty of trophies to show for it. Cricket and wrestling rate highly as well. My favourite band is AC/DC.

I have a no-nonsense approach to life and am fiercely independent. I’m a straight talker and will let you know how things are going.

I’m a smoker, but generally don’t smoke inside and don’t when I have support present.

About the role
I like my routines and can get frustrated when things don’t go as I expect or when people don’t listen to me when I tell them how I’d like things done. This role is ideal for someone with lots of life experience who is very patient and doesn’t take challenging moments personally. Having your own community involvement is a definite plus.

The main things we’ll do together include:
Grabbing breakfast at McDonald’s
Attending appointments
Going to my weekly physio session
Spending time at places where I know people
Running errands or shopping
Taking care of the bushes and trees around my place
It will be important to be organized to help me stay on top of making appointments and plan for things I need.

Hours
The role is 7.25 hours per week on Tuesdays, from 8:45 to 2 p.m., and Thursdays, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Approximately every 4 weeks, the Tuesday shift starts earlier, at 8 a.m.

It’s also important for my team to have some availability and flexibility to cover for each other when people are sick or away. My team also work on Monday and Wednesday mornings.

Remuneration and Training
The role is paid at level 2.1 casual base rate: currently $41.76 per hour. Salary Packaging may be an option.

Community Living Project is one of a handful of organisations around the world that supports families leading change – and provides ongoing guidance, training and direction in self-directed support, social devaluation, and right-relationship.

All applicants must have or be willing to obtain
A driver’s Licence and a reliable vehicle
A current NDIS worker check
First Aid Certificate
