Recently, a mum-to-be came to me after a scan elsewhere feeling devastated she hadn’t been able to see her baby.

She had booked a 3D scan, but due to the placement of the placenta and fluid levels, it wasn’t possible to capture those images on the day.

What wasn’t considered was that there were still other ways to see her baby.

Even when 3D isn’t achievable, there is still so much opportunity for connection — through movement, heartbeat, and simply taking the time to sit with your baby on screen.

There are also gentle techniques that can be used during a session to encourage baby to move or reposition, along with adjusting angles, taking time, and working with what baby is giving in that moment.
