💛 What is Lipoedema? 💛
Lipoedema is a loose connective tissue disease that mainly affects women. It’s marked by painful, nodular fat that builds up on the hips, buttocks, and limbs — often starting or worsening during puberty, pregnancy, or menopause.
🌀 This tissue isn’t like typical body fat. It’s often resistant to diet, exercise, and even bariatric surgery.
😣 It can cause pain, swelling, and difficulty moving, especially as the condition progresses.
⚠️ Lipoedema often occurs alongside other conditions like obesity, lymphoedema, vein issues, and joint hypermobility.
Understanding the difference is key. Lipoedema is real, and early support can make a big difference. 💬
