Busy day in the Inner Harbour 💪

Five vessels alongside some of our Inner Harbour berths, showcasing the diversity of trade that moves through the port on any given day, from fertilisers, scrap and steel to mineral sands, cement, sulphur and petroleum.

It seems that the Wellbeing at Sea conferences are being held every 2 years i.e. 2022, 2024 & 2026, with the recent 2026 conference being held in Adelaide. Hence, it was probably the first one that Stella Maris Port Adelaide had been invited to attend. We had 2 delegates attend the conference on our behalf. These conferences are hosted by the Australian Council for the Mission to Seafarers MTS) Inc.

Some photos from Friday evening 16th January when 32 People attended our thank you get together. Special thanks go to Joan and Michael Collins for coordinating this event. And thanks to all others who assisted with the event. It was an outstanding success, especially when we had 2 Seafarers turn up just after 6:30pm.
They got a pleasant surprise at being given the four St. Vincent de Paul gifts to take back to their ship (apply named "MATE". You can't get more Aussie than that.)
A special touch was when we had John and Nada Stoiber from the Henley Beach Parish at the function. John presented the two visiting Seafarers with the gifts.

Although our centre reopened this week following the Christmas break, the centrre will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday due to extreme heat conditions.

Our Christmas Hampers and Christmas Presents have been distributed over the past couple of weeks. (All funds for this project have come from the Australian Mariners Pilots Association plus $1,400 raised by Our Lady of the Visitation School, and some 47 Christmas presents provided by St. Vincent de Paul -Henley Beach Chapter
