NDIS Music Therapy Price Update

The NDIS has released its latest pricing arrangements, including a small change to the music therapy rate. This update takes effect from 24/11/2025

There’s no impact on how families access or claim music therapy, it remains a recognised and funded support.

Worried about the upcoming change?

Good news: music platforms are not affected by the new social media ban.

So while kids may need to take a break from certain online channels, they can still enjoy music, creativity and positive expression safely.

If your child is feeling a little sad or left out without their usual social media interactions, music can be a wonderful support and outlet.

Hi-ho, hi-ho it's off to conference we go!

This week, our team will be attending the Australian Music Therapy Association National Conference, celebrating 50 years!

The conference theme this year is "Orchestrating Impact and Innovation".

Our speechies Bec and Esther, along with RMTs Rowan, Natalie, Rina, Kun and Luke will be soaking up all the amazing research and knowledge on offer in the music therapy field, and we cannot wait!

It’s been a busy and exciting season for our team! Over the past few weeks we’ve:

🎤 Run group programs like Talk’n’Tunes and Shake It Up!
🏫 Visited preschools and community centres to share music and speech therapy
💙 Welcomed new families into our clinic and supported ongoing participants
📚 Delivered professional development
🙌 Partnered with local organisations to bring music and speech therapy into new settings

Music Therapy Remains in the NDIS!

Music therapy continues to be recognised as a funded support under the NDIS.

This means participants can keep accessing registered music therapists to support:

💬 Communication and social skills
💙 Emotional regulation and wellbeing
💪 Movement, coordination, and motor planning
🤝 Community participation and connection

We’ll keep monitoring updates and advocating for music therapy within the scheme, but for now, families can be reassured nothing has changed in how you access music therapy through your plans.

Children learn best when instructions are short and clear. Instead of saying, “Can you pick up all the blocks and put them back into the blue box by the shelf?” try, “Put the blocks in the box.”

Keeping it easy helps them respond with confidence.
