Disability to Ability SA (D2A SA) is a disability support service based in Northern Adelaide, South Australia. Itโ€™s a multifaceted organisation that helps NDIS participants build skills, confidence, and community connections through nature-based and creative programs. Hereโ€™s a clear breakdown:

What They Do

Disability to Ability SA provides supports and activities that focus on wellbeing, independence, and inclusion. Their services are tailored to individual goals and can be funded under different parts of an NDIS plan. Key services include:

Support Coordination & Psychosocial Recovery Coaching โ€“ helping participants understand, use, and maximise their NDIS plans. Animal-Assisted Experiences โ€“ hands-on sessions with goats, sheep, horses, dogs, chickens, and bees on the farm. Community Gardening โ€“ learning to grow herbs, succulents, and vegetables while connecting with nature. Group Activities & Social Programs โ€“ such as art and craft classes (tie-dye, gem art, mosaics, resin, candle making), sports sessions (AFL, tennis, fitness), and community lunches. Support Work โ€“ one-on-one or small group supports to help people in their daily lives and community participation. Unique Approach

Strong farm-to-fresh and nature-based focus โ€“ participants spend time outdoors with animals, gardens, and open spaces. Creative learning environments โ€“ combining art, sport, gardening, and animal interaction into personal growth opportunities. Holistic well-being โ€“ not just about meeting NDIS goals, but helping people feel connected, valued, and included. Who Runs It

The team includes:

Support Coordinators & Recovery Coaches โ€“ helping with NDIS planning and advocacy. Group Coordinators & Activity Leaders โ€“ running the animal, gardening, sport, and art programs. Support Workers & Admin Staff โ€“ providing everyday assistance, scheduling, and participant support. Where & Who They Support

Based in Northern Adelaide, but services extend across South Australia. Work with a wide range of people with disabilities, especially those seeking community connection, skill-building, and nature-based activities. Why Theyโ€™re Different

Disability to Ability SA focuses on **turning disability into ability** by highlighting participantsโ€™ strengths, encouraging new experiences, and fostering community belonging. Their programs are **flexible, creative, and person-centred**, making them stand out from traditional service providers.

From shy and scared to safe and snuggled ๐Ÿค
When little Angle first joined us, she was frightened and unsure around humans. But Lucy, our gentle and loving sheep, took her under her woolly wing like her own baby. Now these two are inseparable โ€” always side by side, reminding us how healing a little love and friendship can be ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’›

It doesnโ€™t matter where you come from, what you look like, or how big or small you are โ€” love and connection will always find a way. ๐Ÿ’ซ

๐Ÿ’” With a Heavy Heart ๐Ÿ’”

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Buddy will be retiring from the Disability to Ability SA Animal Experience program. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’›

Over the past 2.5 years, Buddy has brought endless joy, comfort, and smiles to so many participants, becoming a muchโ€‘loved member of our D2A family. Unfortunately, Buddyโ€™s health has been slowly declining, and he is now suffering from severe arthritis. ๐Ÿ’”

For his comfort and wellbeing, Buddy will no longer be attending visits. While we will miss him dearly in the program, his paw prints will remain in our hearts forever. ๐Ÿถโœจ

Please join us in wishing Buddy a happy, comfortable retirement full of love, treats, and gentle cuddles. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿฅ Meet Hermione โ€“ our famous escape artist!
If sheโ€™s not flapping around in the pool, youโ€™ll find her sneaking under fences or climbing her way into the goat and sheep paddocks for a little hangout time ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘

Sheโ€™s cheeky, curious, and absolutely full of character โ€“ just the way we love them here at the farm! ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŽ‰ Happy 1st Birthday Zorro! ๐ŸŽ‰

Today weโ€™re celebrating a very special member of the Disability to Ability SA farm family โ€“ Zorro turns ONE! ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‚

When Zorro first arrived at the farm, he was just a tiny lamb needing bottle feeds and extra love. He bravely faced daily injections as a little one, showing us all what true resilience looks like. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ

From those early days to now, Zorro has grown into the big, fluffy, black-nosed sweetheart that so many of our visitors know and adore. Whether itโ€™s cuddles in the paddock or being the star of our animal experience sessions, Zorro brings joy to everyone he meets.

Hereโ€™s to you, Zorro โ€“ our brave little lamb turned lovable gentle giant. ๐Ÿ–ค๐ŸŽˆ

๐Ÿพ The power of animals goes beyond words.

At Disability To Ability, weโ€™ve seen firsthand how working with animals can transform lives within the NDIS community.

Hereโ€™s why animals make such a big impact:
โœ… Emotional support: They help reduce anxiety and promote calm.
โœ… Skill-building: Feeding, grooming, and caring for animals teaches responsibility and independence.
โœ… Connection: Animals create a safe and judgment-free way to form bonds.
โœ… Confidence boost: Achieving tasks with animals fosters a sense of pride and accomplishment.

๐ŸŒพ Whether itโ€™s cuddling a lamb or learning how to feed chickens, these small moments lead to BIG wins.

๐Ÿ“ฉ DM us to learn more about our farm activities and how they align with your NDIS goals.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Because sometimes, the best therapy has four legs and a wagging tail.
