✨ To wrap up the staff introductions, we’d love to welcome our 5th new amazing Podiatrist: Josh Zweck!

🔹 Josh is a qualified Podiatrist who began his Podiatry career after being inspired by his own experience as a patient, having had a positive outcome using orthotic therapy and strength training to manage his injuries during his 20 year AFL journey.

🔹 Josh has a keen interest in many aspects of Podiatry, with a particular passion for Biomechanics/Sports Podiatry, Orthotics, Nail Surgery and Shockwave Therapy. 

🔹 Josh has recently moved to Port Elliot and spends his spare time enjoying the coastal lifestyle with his young family and their two dogs.

✨Today we introduce our next superstar Podiatrist - Zahra McDonald!

🔹 Zahra graduated from Uni SA with the prestigious JR Pickering award for achieving the highest aggregate score for clinical biomechanics in her final year 🙌

🔹 Zahra has experience in orthotic design and manufacture and medical grade footwear, giving her a strong background for lower limb Biomechanics and Musculoskeletal Podiatry.

🔹 With a particular interest in women’s health, Zahra is mindful of how hormonal changes and chronic conditions can influence foot health and musculoskeletal pain.

🔹 Outside of the clinic, Zahra enjoys painting, spending time outdoors with her dog, and sharing her passion for Podiatry and health education through social media.

🔹 Bek is a new-grad Podiatrist with a passion for all aspects of Podiatry. She loves helping her patients achieve their individual goals - whether that means moving pain free, rebuilding strength after injury, or improving quality of life while managing a chronic condition.

Saunders! ✨

🔹 Tom is a passionate new graduate podiatrist with a strong interest in lower limb biomechanics, sporting demographics, diabetic care/foot checks, nail surgery and injury rehabilitation.

🔹 With previous experience working with orthotic design/manufacturing, Tom has an appreciation for the role of custom orthotic therapy and footwear in managing foot and lower limb conditions.

🔹 Outside of the clinic, Tom enjoys staying active, spending time with friends (and many pets) - as well as whatever his new hobby is for the month.

🔹As the colder weather approaches it’s time to think about Winter Foot Health, including the prevention of lesions such as Chilblains.

🔹Chilblains are a reaction to cold temperatures occurring in our extremities (think of all the little body parts that get cold quickly). E.g. fingers, nose, ears and TOES.

🔹The tiny blood vessels in our toes can become inflamed and often appear as:
- Red or purple in colour
- Peeling skin or blistering
- Itchy or sore

🔹In many cases Chilblains improve as the weather warms up. But... it’s always safe to have your feet checked by a Podiatrist if you are suspicious of them, as they can indicate changes in circulation.

🔹We recommend keeping your feet warm, covered in socks and shoes, and transitioning slowly from cold to hot temperatures. The Akilwinter Cream is great for stimulating micro circulation to the toes, to increase the skin’s barrier function and improve protection.
