We stayed in Coober Pedy for one night and then hit the Oodnadatta track.
Down the track we saw a lady stopped on the side of the road emptying out her boot. On a closer look she had a flat tyre. Out of respect I didn't post a photo as I didn't ask for her permission .
Scott offered to help her and she accepted his offer to help change her tyre. He turned around to walk and get some tools from his car and realised that we had a flat tyre also. We had about 3 other cars pass and they all stopped to make sure everyone was fine, which was a lovely feeling.
We then went to William Creek and had a refreshment at the pub. It was full of business cards on the ceiling and other bits and pieces too. Scott said years ago you paid $5 to place your business cards on the ceiling and the money went to the Royal Flying Doctors. The flies were extremely friendly here too.
We then went on to stay at Coward Springs which is a very quirky and Eco friendly caravan park. The sites are scattered around in the bushland so you don't really have anyone right next to you. The 2 showers are heated up once a day for an afternoon shower. There are also only 2 mens and 2 ladies toilets, so it helps if you are self sufficient with your own caravan. There is a natural spa here also and lots of date palms that were planted years ago in the Afghan Cameleer days. The owners make lots of items with the dates, eg icecream, scones, biscuits, relishes etc. that they sell in their little shop.
The scenery on the Oodnadatta track is once again very different to some of my other posts.
Safe travels everyone
