Another fantastic project from the City of Playford showcasing community, diversity and inclusion. 💜

🙌💜 We need your help, Playford! 🌟

📸 Picture This: Inclusion 📸

We’re building a photo library that celebrates the people of Playford – 🌏 people with disability, carers, 🙌 volunteers, 🤝 support workers, 👩‍💼 council staff and 👨‍👩‍👧 families.

These images will appear in:
✔️ Easy Read council documents (like our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan) 📖
✔️ Flyers, newsletters and programs 📰
✔️ Websites and social media 💻📱

We’ll also capture simple photos for Easy Read symbols – things like ✅ yes, ❌ no, 🏘️ community, 👐 support and 💬 feedback – featuring local people of all ages, cultures and abilities.

📅 Photo sessions are happening over the next two weeks at venues across Playford.
✅ Photos are taken respectfully 💜
✅ You decide how your images are used ✍️
✅ Consent forms and support provided 🧾

🪩 We're partnering with Vibrant Care Australia to hold monthly Disco Vibes events! We invite residents aged 18+ with a disability to join us for a fun dance party.

Vibrant Days 🌈

We've been keeping busy and having the best time! 🌞 From meeting some of our favourite super heroes, to train rides 🚂 and exploring the railway museum (Toot Toot!), The Beachouse fun and games, giant dinosaur puzzles, Police visits about cyber safety with our Playford friends, Wonderwalls at the Port, bowling, and winter craft activities, we've been making memories with friends and having so much fun! 🌟

Vibrant Days 🌈

Reflecting on an amazing few weeks! 🤩
We've had a blast with friends, celebrating two fabulous ladies' birthdays last month 🎉🎂, visiting the Upside Down House, black light mini golf 🏌️‍♀️ (we finally mastered that loop hole 😎), NAIDOC week celebrations, movie days 🍿. Space exhibitions, Zumba at JCC & so much more!
Good times with great friends make life unforgettable! 🙌 Thanks for the memories!

We LOVE our job as disability support workers! ❤️ Nothing beats seeing the smiles and growth of the individuals we support. Our passion is empowering people to live their best lives!💕

Dsco Vibes 🪩

Magic happens when we dance! ✨ We had an absolute blast at our Prince and Princess themed disco! 👸🏰 The royal treatment was in full swing with Disney-inspired fun, costumes, and music that made us all feel like royalty! 👑

Special shoutout to DJ Al and the Grandies for bringing the magic with all our favorite tunes and to Olaf for melting our hearts ❤️☃️❄️ And, of course, to our amazing participants and supporters - you made the day truly unforgettable! 💕

Thanks again to everyone who joined us and to Campbelltown Council for partnering with us. We can't wait for the next disco adventure! 💕

Disco Vibes🪩

We got down and boogied on the dance floor!🪩 with our recent 70s theme Disco Vibes💃🕺 Our movers and groovers had a blast getting dressed up and dancing the day away. Karaoke was the name of the game, and let's just say some of our participants were "born to run" ... the mic! 🎤 Stay tuned for a video of their singing talents - it's gonna be a real "hit"! 🎉

Vibrant Art days 🌈

Creativity shines at Deb's Funky Arts Studio ! 🎨 Our participant had an absolute blast unleashing her artistic talents in a fun and supportive environment. Deb's passion and expertise brings out the best in everyone, and the results are truly amazing! 🌟 We're so grateful for the opportunity to support Deb and provide our participants with such a wonderful experience.

Vibrant Saturday’s 🌈

Rolling into fun! 🎳 some of our participants had a strike-ing time bowling last weekend! Who will be the champion? Will we get a turkey (three strikes in a row)? 🐓 The thrill of competition had everyone on the edge of their seats.

Did you know that bowling has been around since ancient Egypt, with evidence of a game similar to bowling dating back to 3200 BC? 🏺
Or that the world's largest bowling alley is the Inazawa Grand Bowl in Japan, with 116 lanes? 🤯
And that modern bowling as we know it today originated in Germany in the Middle Ages🇩🇪

Our participants had a ball building mobility and coordination skills while having a blast with friends. Bowling is a great way to knock down barriers and build connections! 👏

Vibrant Respite 🌈

A wonderful weekend respite! 🌟 Our participant enjoyed some well-deserved rest and relaxation, soaking up the highlife vibes. A highlight of the weekend was watching the Broadway musical 'Beauty and the Beast' - what a magical experience! 🎭 We also had a cozy movie day with delicious dessert bars 🍰🍿. And, amidst all the fun, our participant achieved some fantastic living skills milestones - cooking, cleaning, washing clothes, and making beds. 💪🏼👏 We're so proud of their accomplishments! 🌈



Respite care is more than just a break - it's an opportunity for participants to build skills, connect with others, and enjoy new experiences, while also giving their caregivers a much-needed chance to recharge. Whether it's for a few hours, days, weekend or a few weeks, respite care is a vital part of the NDIS, providing support and flexibility for individuals with disabilities and their loved ones. 🌈
