On the Face of BET this Friday

Meet Kirsty Scott a Registered Nurse, at BET Group in South Australia

Kirsty’s journey into nursing has been marked by dedication, resilience, and a deep passion for caring for others.

After graduating from Pedare Christian College in 1997, she began her studies in Psychology and Law at the University of South Australia. However, after two years, she felt the call to nursing and switched to a Bachelor of Nursing in 2000—a decision she has never regretted.

Kirsty completed her placements at Modbury Hospital, graduating in 2004, and began her career with a Graduate Nurse Program at Lyell McEwin Hospital on the medical/surgical ward. From there, her path led her into aged care at Lutheran Homes, then to practice nursing in a GP clinic before finding her way to BET Group, where she continues to serve with compassion and professionalism.

Beyond her career, Kirsty has been blessed with three daughters, balancing family life with her passion for healthcare. She has also completed a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, further expanding her skills.

Kirsty is known for her positive, patient-centred approach, always striving to provide the highest level of care through comprehensive assessment and planning.

When she is not working, Kirsty enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on holidays, reading, watching movies, and exploring creative hobbies such as diamond art. She is also a keen sports fan, following AFL, soccer, and her children’s sporting pursuits.

Kirsty, thank you for the heart, dedication, and positivity you bring to BET Group every day. You are truly the Face of BET this week.

Over this weekend, our CEO, Emily Korir, was in Singapore at the Four Seasons Hotel to receive the prestigious Global Women of Influence 2025 Award.

This incredible recognition placed her among extraordinary women from around the world—leaders who are making a difference in their communities and beyond. The award was judged by a distinguished panel of female ambassadors representing different nations, with Emily’s category being carefully reviewed by the Ambassador of New Zealand to Singapore.

When she rose to speak, she stated that this honor was not hers alone but shared with many. She dedicated it to her family, whose love keeps her grounded; to the BET team, whose support makes every milestone possible; to people with disabilities, whose resilience inspires her daily; and to every little girl in villages across Africa, as a powerful reminder that everything you dream of is possible.

We at BET Group are very proud to celebrate Emily’s achievement and grateful for the global platform it gives to the values we hold dear: resilience, inclusion, and hope.

On our series of the "Face of BET" this week: Meet Timothy Newsham, our Finance Manager and the steady hand behind BET’s numbers.

A bookkeeper by profession, Timothy holds a Degree in Mathematics, a Cert IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping, and an Advanced Diploma in Christian Ministry. He’s passionate about giving business owners peace of mind so they can focus on their calling—confident that the details are handled with care.

But Timothy doesn’t just “work the numbers.” He keeps his focus on people, drawing from skills honed in his former role as a pastor, ensuring the human story behind the data is never overlooked.

His bookkeeping journey began in 2004 when a volunteer role suddenly needed someone with an eye for numbers, strategy, and process. What started as a side hustle eventually grew into a "Get Tim On It" initiative and, his bookkeeping and advisory business launched in 2017. That path led him to join BET Group in January 2022.

Since then, Timothy has been an integral part of our Finance Team of four (2.5 FTE), helping BET punch above its weight—a contribution that saw us listed among the Top 250 NDIS businesses by the NDIA in 2024.
Timothy encompasses many roles.
His attributes include:
✔ Bringing out the best in people
✔ Helping wherever he can
✔ Championing good file naming (with dates!)
✔ Adding laughter to the team
✔ Making life easier for the CEO & MD
✔ Keeping payroll, invoicing & bills running smoothly

Outside of work, Timothy is a proud father of three, soon-to-be father-in-law twice over (with two weddings on the horizon in 2025!).
He loves coffee with friends, dinners with family, long drives with an audiobook, and cheering for his beloved Adelaide and South Australia. Every year, he takes a Mental Health Day to enjoy Day 1 of the Test Cricket in Adelaide.

We’re so grateful for all that Timothy brings to BET—his skills, his heart, and his humor and were proud to introduce him as the Face of BET this week.
