Louise Pascale, Community Advocate

Louise Pascale, Community Advocate I was a Councillor for Adelaide Hills Council. I passionately believe we need strong representation for our suburbs.

As a resident of Woodforde I believe we need to be with a Council that can deliver the services we need. Authorised by Louise Pascale, PO Box 2046 Magill North SA 5072

You may not see it from these pictures but this gum dropped a huge branch on the Morialta path to first falls. This is a really popular path and it fell in front of me as I was crossing one of the bridges. This weekend is more hot weather so please stay safe when out enjoying our parks and enviroment.

Adelaide Hills Council passed a motion in 2019 declaring a climate emergency.
And yet each year they spend tens of thousands of our ratepayer dollars on a bike race that promotes Santos in our area. ** Warning - this satirical video contains swearing **

Have you signed up for the AlertSA app yet?

It will give you timely updates about hazards and bushfires in the area. On hot days like today it's important to stay up to date with what is going on in the area.

We are in a high risk area and it's good reminder for when to act or just sit and watch.

Today is a timely reminder that we live in bushfire risk zone. It's easy to be complacent when you live in medium to high density housing.

You think it won't happen. But that beautiful park we all love - it's in our backyard. 👇🏼

We've got a bit of a feral cat problem in Woodforde on our southern side. With the assistance of my neighbour we managed to capture two of them. However it came at a cost that I had to wear.

Multiple neighbours have been calling the Council about the kittens we were seeing and each time they were told to hire a cage from the Council and catch them. Then the Council will come and collect them.

This process made an assumption that we all have disposable income to deal with a problem which essentially falls in to the cat and dog bi-laws. For months we tried alternatives but at the end I had to pay $91 ($60 of that is a deposit I am still waiting to be refunded).

The Ranger who colltected the two strays we caught said we are likely to have many more because we are on the edge of a park.

When I told the Ranger that if there was no cost involved this situation would have been addressed months ago. He suggested I spend $140-150 to buy my own cage and they will collect the cats.

I have asked Cr Adrian Cheater to look in to this as I feel it is not reasonable to ask a community to manage a feral cat problem. Right now the AHC policy is we pay for the cage and we do the work in capturing and holding the animal until they arrive.

I know there is still a feral black and white cat in the area, and in fact I have crossed paths with it in Morialta Consevation Park. If you see any, please take a picture of it and report it to the Council - or share it in my comments.

It's that time of year again! I hope you can join us.

Have you seen this sign on Glen Stuart Road?

Consultation closes on Monday 24 November on changes to the streets around the Magill industrial area. This includes 90 degree parking, increase verges, footpaths and one way streets.

Sitting on the edge of two councils this will impact how we travel around the precinct.

From my personal experience, my mechanic is on Hender Ave and when cars are parked on both sides, it is a one way street anyway.....

Here we go again. Nominations for Mayor of Adelaide Hills Council close on the 20th November.
Whoever runs, remember those in there now had an opportunity to be part of the solution and prevent this....(in my opinion).

Council Elections are an important part of the democratic framework of Australia and provide an opportunity every four years for communities to elect a Council that will represent their best interests.

This is an interesting project to watch. The sound economic growth of the Campbelltown City Council means it can undertake ambitious projects like this for its community.

If you are a Council resident, you will receive a consultation pack in your letterbox to make it easy for you to provide feedback. The pack will contain details about each option, including how you can get involved and participate in the consultation.
