The end of our Safari Week was celebrated with a lavish High-Tea!

It has been delightful to see so many people getting involved and the buzz that filled Bethsalem Care as we all enjoyed the activities of the week.

Thank you to all the staff, volunteers, family members, and residents who joined in - but especially to Rozz and her team, who did an epic job at bringing the week's activities together!

Safari Week highlight: Monarto Safari Park! 🚌🌿
We ventured out on a scenic bus tour through Monarto Safari Park, where we were lucky to spot zebras, lions, giraffes, ostriches and so many more animals more roaming freely in their open habitats. The day was topped off with a delicious lunch at the Café—and lots of smiles to go around!

Fun fact: Monarto is one of the largest open-range zoos in the world, home to over 500 animals from 50 species!🦒

Last week's Safari adventures continued with a screening of "Born Free" in the main hall, a taste of Zambian cuisine with Sharon and some engaging Safari-themed creative projects! 🦁 Everyone certainly enjoyed this taste of African culture! Looking forward to sharing our next adventure with you!

We are so excited to announce that the highlight of our 2025 theme "From Here to There" will be Safari Week, held from the 16th - 20th June!

During this week Bethsalem Care will turn into the savannah's of the Serengeti as we immerse ourselves in African culture. We have some great activities lined up for our residents, and we can't wait to share them with you. Make sure you're following along so you don't miss out!

The highlight of this week will be a trip to Monarto Safari Park, and we'd love your help to make this happen! We are asking for donations as a fundraising effort to help offset the cost. If you'd like to contribute, there is a donation box at reception (carefully guarded by Usarian the meerkat!) All donations will be very gratefully received!

Our Resident Activities this year have been based around the theme "From Here to There" - exploring the journey's of life. Each month we "visit" a different country for our world Kitchen afternoon and this month our residents were privileged to experience "Sinova's Taiwan"! 🇹🇼

🙋‍♂️ Male Volunteers Wanted!
We're on the lookout for friendly male volunteers to help lead a fortnightly Thursday afternoon group for our male residents.

Think chats, hands-on projects, skill-sharing, games, and maybe even happy hour — all supported by our Lifestyle team (and served with afternoon tea!).

This is an inclusive social group, available to all male residents at Bethsalem Care, and is not specifically designed with a Christadelphian or spiritual focus in mind.

This past week, we celebrated 💙 International Nurses Day 💙 and the incredible nurses who care for our residents with such compassion, skill, and heart.

To our wonderful nursing team—thank you for the dedication you show every single day. Your gentle hands, kind words, and steady presence make Bethsalem feel like home for so many.

Yesterday we had the chance to show appreciation to our wonderful team of volunteers at our Annual Volunteers Luncheon. This year's theme was "stir up one another to love and good works", coordinated by the incredible Deb, Jess, Lois & Michelle (with a special mention to Bronte, Susie & the rest of the admin & lifestyle teams). It was a wonderful afternoon!

Our Annual Autumn Fair was a huge success! Thankyou so much to everyone who came out, for all your generous donations and for our amazing volunteers! We were blessed with the perfect autumn day!

Want to skip the queue for our upcoming Bethsalem Care Autumn Fair? Pre-purchase your "fair dollars" at reception anytime before the Annual Fair this saturday to save waiting in line!

We will be using our own special currency “2025 Fair Dollars”, to minimise the need for cash handling. Fair Dollars will be available to purchase using Cash, EFT or Credit Cards on the day or after March 17th from the Café or Reception at Bethsalem Care.

Our fair is only a week away tomorrow, and we are still seeking donations of:

Jams, Chutneys & Preserves
Baked items for sale at the Cake Stall
Potted Plants & Garden items
Bric-a-Brac for the White Elephant Stall
Pre-loved Books

Please remember that all saleable food items must be labelled with ingredients and date of production. Donations can be delivered to Bethsalem Care during normal business hours.

We can't wait to see you next Saturday, 29th March at 9.30am!
