It's that time of year again! Nominations for our Marion Matthews Employee of the Year Award are open! 🏆🎉

"The Marion Matthews Employee of the Year Award is a way we can recognise those who have excelled in their service and dedication to residents and families. I am sure you will agree there are plenty of high-quality staff to choose from, so please feel free to nominate any and all who you feel are worthy of special recognition.

The nomination form will be online, as well as being available on paper, so please click on or scan the QR code below, and on posters around Bethsalem Care, and keep the nominations rolling in.

I take a lot of pleasure from reviewing the kind and complimentary comments that are made, so please be very specific and detailed. Staff love to hear how much they are appreciated and valued, and this is a fantastic way to promote the good work being done.

• Christadelphian Aged Care Conference •

Last week, Board and Leadership Teams from Christadelphian aged care providers across Australia — Christadelphian Homes (NSW), Maranatha (QLD), Olivet (VIC), and Bethsalem Care (SA) — came together for a three-day conference in Sydney. 🌿

Hosted at Ashburn House and Courtlands Village, the event was a wonderful opportunity to collaborate, share knowledge, and explore the future of aged care together.

We were honoured to hear valuable insights from senior representatives of Ageing Australia, Stewart Brown, and DH Aged Care Consulting. The conference wrapped up with an inspiring strategy session led by Ant Pearce, challenging us all to stay focused on our mission — providing care as a witness and meeting the needs of ageing Australians with compassion and excellence. 💙

Bethsalem's Craft Circle meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month and gives our residents a chance to enjoy activities from sewing, to card making, knitting and cross-stitch. 🖌🎨

We're so grateful for our volunteers that dedicate their time and resources to supporting this great initiative!

If you have any craft supplies you'd like to contribute for our craft circle, we'd be most grateful! You can give them to a lifestyle team member or leave them at reception. And if you're a resident or family member, please come join in!

Following a fantastic suggestion from a care staff member, we are excited to have introduced a monthly Afternoon Tea Time! ☕🧁

These uplifting gatherings are held in each house’s lounge area and are designed to bring residents and staff from each house together to get to know each other more. Everyone is invited to join in, share laughter, and make new friends over delicious afternoon tea and games!

Last Thursday, Bethsalem Care was buzzing with excitement as we celebrated Aged Care Employees Day!

There was something for everyone – from a delicious breakfast cooked by our executive team, to giveaways, fun games in the main hall, cupcakes and a grazing board, and displays & treats from our wonderful vendors: Chemmart .super and South Eastern Wealth.

We were also privileged to welcome Nat Cook, Minister for Seniors & Ageing Well, and Shannon Sanderson, SA State Manager at Ageing Australia.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day so special – and especially to every single one of our employees for going above and beyond in your care and service every day!

🌿 After 10 years at Bethsalem Care, we’re saying farewell to Chris Schutz, our head gardener. His green thumb and steady presence have kept our gardens thriving and our grounds looking their best.

Next Thursday, 7th August is national Aged Care Employee day - a chance for us to celebrate and acknowledge the hard work of all our staff members at Bethsalem Care.

Join us for a day filled with relaxation, connection, appreciation, food, fun and wellness! All staff are invited to take part in the activities during breaks, lunches, or whenever you get a chance!

The end of our Safari Week was celebrated with a lavish High-Tea!

It has been delightful to see so many people getting involved and the buzz that filled Bethsalem Care as we all enjoyed the activities of the week.

Thank you to all the staff, volunteers, family members, and residents who joined in - but especially to Rozz and her team, who did an epic job at bringing the week's activities together!

Our Resident Activities this year have been based around the theme "From Here to There" - exploring the journey's of life. Each month we "visit" a different country for our world Kitchen afternoon and this month our residents were privileged to experience "Sinova's Taiwan"! 🇹🇼
