We're very excited to announce that our lifestyle coordinator Rozz has been chosen to present at the Aged Care Recreation & Lifestyle Conference this year!

Rozz will be sharing about last year's lifestyle theme "The World's Kitchen" and how the program fostered a sense of community and relationship between residents and staff.

The program, which brought cuisines from different countries, including Taiwan, Nepal and Greece, was incredibly well received and gave staff a chance to share their experiences in other cultures and countries.

We wish Rozz all the best with her presentation!

On Monday residents, relatives and staff came together to celebrate the graduation of our first cohort of staff through the newly established Bethsalem Academy!

The Academy was established to enhance staff skills and capabilities across a range of credentialed competencies, headed up by senior staff and supported by external education.

We recognised staff that had updated skills throughout the year, including those who transitioned from a PCW to EN or RN, or completing significant external courses.

Special mention to Elena who continues to show incredible leadership in this exciting initiative, and specifically in developing peer support groups for on-floor staff, allowing newer staff members to learn skills in specific areas such as Palliative Care, Dementia Care, Wound Management, Continence Care and Manual Handling.

Congratulations to everyone for your continued education and hard work. We are blessed to have you all as part of our Bethsalem Care staff!

A big happy birthday to all of our residents who celebrated a birthday in April! One of the highlights of the month is coming together to celebrate that month's birthdays, and April was no different! Thankyou to our wonderful kitchen staff for a delicious cake 🎉🎂

Two wonderful "thankyou for the music" themed activities we've had recently: a fantastic concert by Steve Hyndman and a singing workshop by our very own carer Skye! Skye is a trained musical educator and opera singer who taught us proper breathing and singing technique. Thankyou to both Steve and Skye for two wonderful afternoons of music 🎶

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed our Annual Autumn Fair last Saturday! 🍂

Bethsalem Care was buzzing with activity, from fresh produce and garden plants to delicious yiros, sweet treats, and the ever-popular café. There was something for everyone, and the kids especially loved the bouncy castle and face painting.

Events like this don’t happen without the heart of our community. Thank you for showing up, to our wonderful vendors who generously gave their time, and to everyone who contributed donations to make the day so special.

We are so grateful to share moments like this with you and are already looking forward to next year!

Towards the end of February we were privileged to welcome our first dance group for the year – Quicksteps Dance Academy who provided a wonderful ballroom dancing exhibition. Huge thanks to dancers Jam and Kev who took us all for a waltz down memory lane. It really was a fantastic afternoon and seeing the smiles on the faces of residents as they re-lived their own dancing days was truly a joy!

Random Acts of Kindness day was a success, with appreciation cards enjoyed by our staff and a BBQ cooked by our cleaning team. Thanks to everyone who helped to spread the love and kindness to make this day great!

Thank you for the music 🎶

As part of our 2026 theme, we were treated to a vibrant Asian Music & Dance performance, organised by our wonderful carer, Melody. She arranged for performers from different cultures to share their music and dance with our residents and staff.

It was a joyful celebration of culture, connection, and community — and we’re so grateful to Melody for bringing it all together. 💛
