If you’re looking for support to prepare healthy, balanced meals, a few of our support staff are qualified chefs and have first hand experience in meal preparation in the kitchen. We can also support you to make delicious recipes and build your skills and confidence in the kitchen too.

Who needs a full band when you’ve got a keyboard handy? 🎹

Here's a throwback of one of our participants flexing their skills and showing us the range they have on the keyboard. From replicating drums to some funky sitar-style vibes, it’s great to see them excelling in something they’re passionate about!

If you’re looking for everyday support that also focuses on developing your personal musical goals, get in contact with us to see how we can support you!

Last week, one of our participants took to the kitchen to cook up some delicious burgers! Swipe to see the process and the finished product! 🍔

With the help of his support worker, he used a custom made visual guide featuring step-by-step instructions and photos of each ingredient. This resource not only made the cooking process easier to follow, but also helped build his independence and confidence in the kitchen.

Whether it’s mastering a recipe or building other daily living skills, we’re here to support you on your journey. Get in touch with us to find out more about how we can support you! 🐝

Today, 29 September is World Heart Day!

Each year the World Heart Federation raises awareness of cardiovascular disease, advocating for change while promoting the benefits of heart health.

Here are three things you can do to support your heart health:

🚴‍♂️ Fitting in 30 minutes of exercise each day can prevent cardiovascular disease. Running, walking, dancing, swimming - whatever gets your body moving!

🥕 Focus on eating nutritious, heart-healthy meals each day that prioritise vegetables and healthy fats. A range of recipes can be accessed on the Heart Foundation website at www.heartfoundation.org.au/recipes

🛌 Make sure you’re getting enough sleep each night. Poor quality rest and irregular sleep patterns can increase your risk of heart disease

Last week, our director Stevan attended the NDIS Stronger Together networking event, where he had the opportunity to hear incredible stroke survivor JC Pride speak at his first event. JC did an amazing job sharing his inspiring story of overcoming obstacles, achieving big goals, and working towards becoming an advocate within the disability community.

Well done JC, we’re excited to see you continue to share your inspirational story to the world!

One of our participants is a huge heavy metal fan. He’s a talented musician and loves to listen to, chat about or play music whenever he has the chance.

Integrating music into his everyday supports encouraged him to improve his confidence and drumming skills, but has also proved that music is a great motivator for him to build independence and make small improvements in his day to day routine. Jam sessions have helped him to get motivated to complete other important tasks that improve his everyday life and personal wellbeing and hit his own personal goals outside of music.

We are so excited to have seen this growth within his confidence and his wellbeing, and we can’t wait to see where he goes next! Well done! 🤘
