I need a massage, but what kind??
~ Relaxation / Deep Tissue Massage ~
This is my speciality. It focuses on all things general body pain, aches and stress. Deep tissue massage can help address problem areas, reduce intensity and frequency of headaches, improve mobility and quality of sleep.
When we say 'relaxation' you might think of the day spa style, gentle massage, but what it really means is allowing your entire body to relax - to release tension caused by the way you sit, stand and move at work and home to improve your quality of life. In this physically relaxed state, you are also better equipped to manage stress.
The pressure of this style of massage varies based on the body's individual needs and also client preference. You can always let your massage therapist know if you'd like them to increase or decrease the pressure of your treatment!
~ Remedial Massage ~
Many people will ask for a remedial massage when all they really want is a firmer relaxation or whole body massage.
Remedial massage focuses more on the treatment of injuries to muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments, assisting the body's natural healing process. An hour booking will generally focus on a specific area.
A remedial massage therapist (RMT) may also offer deep tissue, sports massage and trigger point therapy along with a variety of other techniques.
Massage is a helpful tool that can be used in conjunction with other medical treatments, with the approval of your doctor.
If remedial massage is what you're looking for, let me know and I can get you booked in with Strength Lab's RMT!
