💜Domestic Violence Doesn’t Always Leave Bruises 💜
💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and today, I’m speaking for the ones who are still wondering if what they’re feeling is “really abuse.”
- Let’s be very clear:
Abuse is not just physical - It’s emotional - Mental
- Financial - Spiritual - Verbal.
🚩 Red Flags That You Might Be in an Abusive Relationship:
🚩 You constantly feel like you’re “walking on eggshells”
🚩They explode over small things, but make you feel guilty
🚩 They isolate you from friends, family, or support systems
🚩 They control your money, phone, car, or access to basic needs
🚩 They accuse you of cheating, lying, or being “crazy”
🚩 You apologize constantly… Even when you’ve done nothing wrong
🚩 You feel drained, confused, numb, or like you’ve lost yourself
🚩 They threaten you when you try to leave or accuse you of abandoning them
🚩 You’re scared of how they’ll react to the truth
😈 Signs You’re Dealing with a Narcissist (or Narcissistic Abuse):
🚩 Love Bombing: They shower you with affection, attention, and promises early on
🚩 Gaslighting: They deny things you saw or felt. Make you doubt your memory or sanity
🚩 Triangulation: They compare you to others to make you feel insecure or jealous
🚩 Projection: They accuse you of what they’re actually doing
🚩 Silent Treatment / Punishment Cycles
🚩 You made me do this” is their go-to excuse
💔 Narcissistic abuse is often invisible but it’s deeply psychological and soul-crushing.
💜 Early Signs to Watch for (First Few Weeks):
🚩 They say “I love you” way too fast
🚩They want to move in, marry, or claim you immediately - “They claim that you’re their soulmate and - they’ve never felt this way before”
🚩They ignore your boundaries and call it “love”
🚩They put down your friends or family
🚩 They act like the victim in every story they tell
🚩 They talk about all their “crazy exes” (spoiler: you’ll be the next one)
🚩 You feel swept off your feet, but also slightly off balance… something just feels off
💜 REMEMBER:
Abuse is never your fault.
Even when they say, “You made me angry”
or- “You shouldn’t have done that.”
“ You deserved it”
You didn’t cause their abuse. You don’t deserve it. And you don’t have to stay!
💜 If You Need Help, It Exists:
💜 Local shelters and advocates are available in most cities and many offer help with emergency housing, legal protection, and escape planning.
💜 This month, we honor:
💜 The ones still in silence.
💜 The ones who made it out.
💜 The ones who didn’t.
And for those wondering if what they’re going through is “bad enough”
- If it’s hurting your soul, it’s enough.
You are not crazy.
You are not alone.
You are not to blame.
💜 You are so much stronger than you think!!!
