The team at Goolwa have been super busy in the woodworking shed! Check our Steve’s efforts in building brand new wicking beds out at Salvage & Save Goolwa.

Steve, among all of our other Employees have the opportunity to grow their skills and capabilities as part of their employment, in Steve’s case – that includes skills in wood working and safe use of power and hand tools!

The results of their skills, our Mud Kitchens and a range of other practical and decorative products are then available for sale at our Salvage & Save sites. You can empower our team to continue to build on their skills and capabilities by donating any reusable timber, building materials, and various other items that can be used by our woodworking team!

We celebrated Ricky’s 63rd Birthday!

He’s been so excited all week to share his birthday celebrations with his friends and colleagues, and Ricky truly pulled out all the stops to celebrate!

Not only did he bring along a lovely cake to share, but he also brought with him 63 – count ‘em – sixty-three candles for his cake! 🎂🎂

Many smiles were had, and great memories were formed at lunch as the whole team came together to celebrate Ricky’s special day!

Join us in wishing a very Happy Birthday to Ricky!

📣 NEW SKILLS ALERT 📣

It's been a busy time at Hindmarsh, with so many of our Employees developing brand new skills that empower them to prosper in Employment. 💪

Like Leanne, learning how to effectively use the product scales which then makes sure that every product hits the right weight to be compliant with our customers needs.

Or Kayla, learning to safely and confidently use the glue machine, sealing boxes of goods, ready to be palletised and sent into the supply chain of goods in South Australia!

And Chris, sorting, counting and packing metal brackets plus all of the screws and bolts a consumer might need, making sure that the end products are consistently and correctly packed!

We’re always looking for ways to help our team build their capabilities in employment, whether that be trying out new jobs, learning the machinery that has an important role in the production process, or exploring the many different tasks we do for our customers.

It not only increases the skills and capabilities of our employees, it also gives them a sense of pride in their work, in what they are able to accomplish, builds confidence and provides meaningful purpose and fulfilment in all of our lives! 💪

Skill building for everyone is the core that empowers everyone at mobo to prosper in employment, and it makes us so proud of our whole team to see their skillsets continue to grow and improve!

Join us in sending a massive Well Done to everyone! 🎉🎉

It’s finally here!

mobo has a brand new website – and it’s LIVE RIGHT NOW!

✅ Better Navigation
✅ More Accessible
✅ Better Flow of Information
✅ New Images
✅ Increased Visual Appeal

We’re so proud to finally launch our new website – mobo.org.au

We have to thank the team at Freerange Future, this is the coming together of a massive task we’ve been collaborating on for the last 6 months. We can’t thank you enough for your work in empowering our wildest website dreams to come true! The talent and skills of the team, your understanding of our goals, and ability to take on our unique style and make it translate into an informative and engaging website, we couldn’t have asked for a better result! Thank you!

Also, as much as she’d prefer to go unnamed and hide behind her work, we must shout out our Marketing Coordinator Sam – who is responsible for the written content, imagery and the creative lead of the website. Plus, all of the rebrand design work so far, if you’ve seen anything with mobo’s new logo on it, you’ve seen Sam’s work! Amazing job!

You’ve already seen our new logo, the vehicles at Salvage & Save and Firewood & Gardens, and now a brand-new website. But we’re not done yet! A set of print collateral is almost ready for release, and there are plans underway to update our building signage! You’ll see these updates and more in the coming months as mobo’s rebrand finally comes together!

Our Story

Mobo Group was created due to the merge of two successful disability enterprises, Hands On SA (HOSA) and Finding Workable Solutions (FWS). Prior to the merge the HOSA brand had 55 years of history and the FWS brand had 28 years. Mobo Group was founded in 1963 by a group of parents of children with a disability who wanted to provide their children with vocational training and real employment opportunities.

Today, Mobo Group provides employment to more than 200 people living with a disability across two metropolitan sites spanning from Kingscote to Berri.

Of upmost importance to our entire organisation is the empowerment of our employees and for our business to be the best it can be. We value listening and understanding to create the best outcome; whether it be support for employees or a savvy commercial solution. We will do whatever it takes to deliver better business and better lives. We believe the sky is the limit and our structure gives us the freedom to continually explore what’s next.
