Hi everyone, regrettably we will no longer be taking on any further work for the foreseeable future, we’re taking an open ended break to review our direction and where best to deploy our unique top tier service and experience in composites. After removing the damaged core from this Zipp wheel, new cure was bonded in under vacuum. Next stage is to prepare for the carbon plies to be bonded onto the repair site.

Starting with a documented clear baseline on all aspects of a repair is crucial. One final structural lay up to do and we will be back in the region of the starting frame weight. Detail is in everything we do.

Seat stay repair to this focus. The right hand seat stay had cracked all the way around. This was a multi step repair to ensure the manufacturers ‘as built’ frame sizing and geometry were not lost during the repair process

Repair to this BMC chain stay. Significant delamination requiring 50mm of damaged structure to be cut away before repair. Not performing this extensive damage removal would result in applying repair plies onto weak structure and affect the long term safety and integrity of the repair

We posted the scarfing process of this top tube a week or so back, couple of steps in between with layups, sanding and priming to get to this finished repair

Bonded flush repair with internal core replacement. We specialise in in track an TT wheel repairs. This type of repair only adds approximately 3grams in weight to the wheel due the the technique used. No effect to balance or run out occurs

The way the athlete uses these track bars is unique which lead to a failure in the carbon composite. We repaired the problem and performed local reinforcement and light modification to the bar. Time critical repair done without compromise to safety, quality, fit, form and function. Thanks for letting us put our logo on your bars!

Thought I’d make a cuppa as this is a longish post…we’ve been going almost one year now, big thank you to all - riders, teams and retailers for supporting us and sharing your passion for cycling with us. We have loved the TDU, the atmosphere and just the general goodness the event has bought to the region. I’ve recently made a change in jobs, similar area but a lot less hours so I can dedicate more time to Carbon Bike Clinic as we continue to grow. My wife Vicky has been amazing and is now helping with the admin side of things which I really appreciate. Big thanks to Pete Chris at pro cycle garage and Steve Keen at Suffer Custom Designs (yes, he did the cup😀), your support, advice and general excellence in your fields has been invaluable and contributed immensely to our work. Instagram has been a great platform for us with our number of followers growing and allowed us to showcase our work and capability. We’re pumped for the year ahead and are loving being a part of Adelaide’s cycling community. Thanks again and stay safe.
