I'm sorry I haven't been active, life has been getting in the way and I still haven't heard back from adhd Australia.

I did just read this and as an adult with adhd, I actually found it really useful and a lot of things really resonated with me.

Hope you find it useful too 😊

We have called on the Australian Government to deliver urgent national funding, awareness and reform in our submission to the Senate Inquiry into ADHD.

Thank you to everyone who completed our survey – your input has been captured in our ADHD Community Submission Report that we will share next week.

Welcome to my page 😊

I created this page as like many of you, am personally touched by adhd. My daughter has severe ADHD (combined) as well as ASD, SPD and I suspect ODD, and I was diagnosed with adult ADHD last year.

I approached ADHD Australia a couple of years ago seeking local support and they advised that there was nothing official in South Australia but would support me if I wanted to start something.

As anyone with Neurodiversity in their world knows, managing something on top of your already crazy life is so overwhelming, particularly when it is starting something new.

A couple of years later and with an even crazier life, I have once again decided to try to start up a support centre for south Australia to share advice, experiences and resources to hopefully help improve the lives of so many struggling with the condition.... either personally or through loved ones.

I have found that ADHD is by far the hardest to manage of the conditions that my daughter has, so am shocked and saddened that it doesn't qualify for ndis support. I am highly motivated and educated but still struggle to have the constant battles with teachers and educators regarding supports for my daughter and to advocate for her socially and academically. I feel that if we could just educate more people, our loved ones wouldn't be labelled trouble makers, disruptive, poorly disciplined and stupid but would be understood and nurtured to become the amazing people that they are.

Let's work together to help break the stigma, advocate for those touched by ADHD and stop them falling through the cracks.
