After clearing up the biggest myth - that hypnosis is about being knocked out - I want to take you a little deeper into how hypnosis actually works, and why it’s been so effective for my clients.

Here’s the truth: hypnosis isn’t about losing control. It’s about gaining it.

When you’re in that relaxed, focused state, the conscious, busy, critical mind finally steps aside. That allows the unconscious mind - where habits, beliefs, and old patterns are stored - to be updated.

That’s why so many of my clients have been seeing shifts quickly, like;

👉 previously waking up several times a night worrying and now sleeping through, feeling more energised and lighter in the mornings.

Have you ever heard the saying from Clint Eastwood - he’s in his 90s and still directing movies - “Don’t let the old man in”?

Well, for us as women in midlife, I like to say… don’t let the old lady in.

👉 What does that mean? It means not giving in to the idea that because we’re in menopause or beyond, we should slow down, stop moving, or just live on tea and biscuits.

Because here’s what I want you to know…when we stop moving, when we give in to processed foods, when we surround ourselves with negative conversations about aches, pains, and decline… we’re literally inviting the old lady in.

But we have another choice. 💫

We can stay active, feed our bodies with nourishing foods, keep our minds sharp, and surround ourselves with women who lift us up instead of pulling us down.

And most importantly, we can choose to keep a sense of passion and purpose alive - because that’s what keeps us vibrant, joyful, and thriving at any age.

So my reminder to you today is simple:
✨ Don’t let the old lady in. Move your body. Eat to nourish. Choose who you spend your time with. And keep shining your beautiful light because the world needs you!!

I was reflecting on this while walking today. As business owners, we often say it to find people on the same wavelength.

But it’s just as true for health.

I was shocked when I discovered I had signs of fatty liver disease…

💡 I’m a lean person.
🍷 I don’t drink alcohol every night.
🥗 I eat well.

But here’s what I didn’t know…

When estrogen declines in menopause, your other hormones work overtime to keep balance.

If stress is high, cortisol spikes and that can inflame your liver.

A stressed liver struggles to clear excess estrogens from food, chemicals, and the environment.

Instead, they get stored in your fat cells… which then make more estrogen.

After menopause, your fat cells can actually become one of your biggest estrogen producers. And that’s a recipe for stubborn weight gain, bloating, and hormonal chaos.

Quick tip:
Start your day with a glass of warm water and fresh lemon to hydrate, kickstart digestion, and give your liver a gentle morning boost.

🌞 Your best sleep starts in the first 30 minutes after waking up!

Here’s how;

Not long ago, I’d wake up with puffy lids, dark circles, and that “how will I get through today?” feeling.

After deciding I’m done with that - I educated myself and discovered this….

In midlife, lower estrogen makes our brain’s stress system more reactive and our cortisol stays high for longer.

Morning light is the key and the natural fix to reset.

☀️ When daylight hits the cells in your eyes, it tells your brain’s master clock to sync your circadian rhythm.

⏳ That starts the timer for your body to release night-time melatonin so you sleep deeper and wake refreshed.

💛 Plus, sunlight on your skin boosts vitamin D for better mood, immunity, and bone health.

My top tip: Within 30 minutes of waking, get outside for 10–20 minutes.

Look toward the bright horizon, let natural light reach your eyes, and let your skin soak up the beautiful daylight.

I specialise in helping people to transform their relationship with food to address their weight or body challenges and let go of their old negative and limiting emotions and create a positive mindset towards food, and life. No diets, pills, shakes, potions or calorie counting involved!
