I might sound like the Christmas grinch but every year I wince at the thought of all the unwanted gifts that end up in landfill. This is why I love gift vouchers.

I grew up in a family where we were allowed and almost encouraged to let mum and dad know if we didn’t think we would use or wear something given to us. It was better to return it than waste hard earned money or have it sitting in a closet to eventually be discarded.

Gift giving isn’t my number one love language but I do love giving/receiving gifts that are truly wanted or needed. I’ve had plenty of birthdays and Christmas’ where a voucher towards a hair cut, a car wash, a facial, or a health service was what I truly wished for. I love going to a hair appointment and some of its been paid for or a “free” freshly cleaned car 😍

I know not everyone loves giving vouchers but I think they can be even more thoughtful than gifts at times, and if you purchase an e-voucher and print it on paper there is virtually no rubbish - you can put it straight into the recycling bin after it’s been used. Win win.

Swipe across to see my go-to services and stores that you can purchase vouchers/packs/classes from either online via their websites or physical options for those who prefer to give something with a little extra ✨

Love notes from bolus massage clients 🫶🏼

I couldn’t fit them all, but here are a few insights from those who love this treatment.

Ayurvedic bolus massage uses warm herbal pouches that are tapped and smoothed over the entire body to relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, support healthy lymphatic drainage, and detoxify the body — a deeply rejuvenating experience.

75min and 90min (recommended) treatments available, which includes at full body steam to further detoxify.

When they say Ayurveda is a pseudoscience 🙃

Then how did my eczema client go from the most severe case of eczema I’ve ever seen - full body, red raw, not to mention completely mentally and emotionally drained from trying everything. And I mean she tried e v e r y t h i n g.

To walking around with clear skin and no pain in summer dressed and not covered in clothing from toes to chin to protect her skin.

I’m not saying it wasn’t difficult for her. This client inspired me with with her will and commitment. We worked on diet, lifestyle, topical treatments, shirodhara and herbs. And like all natural medicine, she had to give it time.

Ayurveda is an incredibly complementary healthcare system. Its wisdom is profound yet pragmatic. I’m a firm believer that never strictly one or the other (allopathic vs. complementary). Unless of course I get hit by a bus or bitten by a shark or contract a sudden and scary disease - please don’t take me to an Ayurvedic clinic, please take me to the hospital. But bring me Ayurvedic food so I don’t need to eat theirs 😇

It’s all about common sense.

Ayurvedic morning tweaks for your nervous system

Here are some simple adjustments I start my clients with, especially if they’re experiencing anxiety and/or chronic stress:m. It’s not about perfection, it’s about consistency…

〰️ Wake a little earlier — even 30 minutes makes a world of calm, creating space for you to ease yourself (and your cortisol) into the day.

〰️ Sip warm herbal tea — soothe your senses, hydrate, and awaken your Agni.

〰️ Light a candle — ignite the fire element within. Observe, gaze, and feel yourself settle with this primal element.

〰️ Move with the morning light — sync your rhythm with the sun ☀️ breathe in fresh prana 🌿 get your lymph moving.

Ayurveda has always known: to honor the morning is to honor the day. Do you do these already? They’ve been a staple in my world since Ayurveda graced it 10yrs ago. I can always notice the difference in my little Vata/Pitta nervous system if I stray too far from them.

If you’re seeking additional support, you can book in for an Ayurvedic consultation - the perfect starting point for a more tailored diet, lifestyle and treatment plan.

Let’s talk shirodhara, and why choosing the right shirodhara liquid is more than just a preference.

It’s about balance.

It’s important to speak to your practitioner if you’re unsure and new to Shirodhara. I always offer a free 10minute phone consultation to ensure that I can choose what’s best for a new client’s doshas, what’s going on in their vikriti (current health status) and if there’s any ama (toxins). Oil might be the most commonly known, but it isn’t always ‘right’ for everyone. My teacher was from Kerala, and I was lucky enough to learn when and why milk and buttermilk varieties should be used, and how to prepare them.

To put it VERY simply:
🪔 Herbal oil calms and nurtures Vata
🥛 Herbal milk soothes and cools Pitta
🥣 Herbal buttermilk pacifies, detoxifies and clarifies Kapha

When the right liquid meets the right dosha, true harmony begins. So booking in with an Ayurvedic practitioner or doctor, who understands the nuances of Shirodhara AND your doshas, is always going to be best.

Have a listen to learn - and send a DM if you wish to book in for a free 10minute consultation or shirodhara treatment. You can also do this online - link in bio.

A few Ayurvedic tips for travel to save for your next trip 💫

After returning home from my honeymoon in Italy 🇮🇹 I reflected on what the easiest and most practical Ayurvedic tweaks I’ve followed when travelling.
It’s taken time, but travelling without an empty flask is a thing of the past. I’ll forever be that annoying person 😇 who asks for hot water as soon as they sit down. I’ll be the weird seed lady brewing up little teas on her tiny table. And while people pack their 🪥- I’ll make sure I pack my tongue scraper with it in my carry-on. It’s second nature now, as important as remembering to pack my phone charger 🔌

They’re the little things, but they go a long way:
1. A tongue scraper
2. Stainless steel flask (empty)
3. Digestive herbs in stainless steel containers
4. Avoid/minimise eating on planes (eat before/stop-overs/when landed)
5. Triphala
6. Ease your body into new foods
7. Try to stick to main meals

Swipe through the slides for a lil more explanation and a few snaps from our month in Italy. Have any of these practises worked for you in the past? I’d love to know your favourites.

Nervous system feel a little uneasy in Winter? Here’s some Ayurvedic tips + tweaks for anxiety that might help 🌀

In Winter, Vata + Kapha doshas can become imbalanced (both doshas are naturally cool in nature) due to the drop in temperatures ❄️

Vata is linked to anxiety. It is the light, dry, cold, rough, subtle and mobile dosha and has key seats in the nervous system and colon. So it is also associated with digestive disturbances such as bloating, gas and constipation. As Winter progresses, and the cold increases outside the body, I see nervous systems become impacted - and anxiety can rise 🌬️

Scroll through for six lifestyle + dietary tweaks I commonly suggest to clients to start with when experiencing this. We always look at the link between gut - mind - nervous system. And I’d love to hear how some of these tips have worked for you!

If you are unsure, or you’d like tailored Ayurvedic guidance - you can book in for an initial consultation via link in bio. Remember - never self-diagnose or self-treat, and reach out to the appropriate practitioners as needed 🫶🏼

✨How is Ayurveda different (and a perfect partner to other healing modalities)?
Ayurveda sees you for you —your unique constitution, your personal stressors, your rhythms💫

It’s not one-size-fits-all. Two people, same condition? Can be a completely different set of root causes/stressors that require individualised treatment to help them navigate it.

By honouring nature’s cycles (daily, seasonal, life stages) and integrating daily and seasonal routines (dinacharya + ritucharya), Ayurveda brings a deeper layer to healing—especially when paired with modern approaches like supplementation and dietetics.

Think of it as ancient wisdom meeting personalised precision 🌿🤝🧬
