We had a fantastic time at the Point Pearce Closing the Gap Day!

It was a wonderful day filled with community and culture, from the Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, to hands-on activities, health checks, and a powerful cultural dance performance by Wayaga Performing Arts.

Our team loved connecting with everyone (and our Lego raffle was a hit - congratulations to Lyle on the win! 🎉). We also enjoyed some delicious homemade damper along the way.

Thank you to everyone who came along and to Yorke and Northern Local Health Network for hosting such a meaningful event. 🖤💛❤️

Every young person deserves a safe place to call home.

April 15 marks Youth Homelessness Matters Day, a national day to raise awareness of the growing number of children and young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Right now:
🔴 Over 28,000 young Australians are without a home on any given night.
🟠 Nearly 1 in 4 are aged between 12–24.
🟡 In South Australia, thousands of young people are presenting alone to homelessness services each year.
🔴 Too many are still being turned away due to limited resources.

Behind these numbers are real stories: young people navigating mental health challenges, housing stress, and uncertainty about their future.

As part of the consortium delivering the Toward Home program, we are proud to support Youth Homelessness Matters Day.

If you’d like to take action, you can visit hometime.org.au to send a message to the Treasurer ahead of the 2026 Federal Budget - or you can simply share this post to spread the word about this important issue.

If you’re experiencing or at risk of homelessness, contact Toward Home on 1800 809 273 (9am–5pm, Mon–Fri). If you need urgent after-hours support, contact Homeless Connect on 1800 003 308.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a new model of crisis care alongside a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, peer practitioners, and community specialists.

A great day out in the Port! ⚽🌭

Earlier this month, some of the Sonder team joined the community at Support in the Port, a fantastic local event bringing people together to connect with support services in the Port Adelaide area.

From kicking the footy around to chatting over a sausage sizzle (and maybe entering a raffle or two 👀), it was all about creating a welcoming space where people could meet services, ask questions, and feel supported.

Thank you to City of Port Adelaide Enfield for bringing everyone together, and to everyone who stopped to say g’day! Events like this are what community is all about. 💙🧡
