Last week, we came together to celebrate the beautiful festival of lights — Diwali! 🪔
Our residents and staff shared a joyful day filled with laughter, music, and delicious treats. Our nursing home sparkled with colourful decorations, diyas, and warm smiles all around. 💛

It was truly heart-warming to see everyone join in — lighting candles, sharing stories, and spreading the spirit of togetherness and hope that Diwali represents. 🌟

A big thank you to all our residents and staff for making this celebration so special! 💐

The Federal Government has today confirmed that the new Aged Care Act will now come into effect from 1 November 2025 — a decision that brings welcomed clarity and additional time for the sector to prepare - particularly for the Support at Home program. As we move forward, we remain committed to ensuring quality care for our communities.

The federal government has today announced that the new Aged Care Act will come into effect from 1 November 2025. This decision follows months of advocacy from Ageing Australia and our members that the reform was at risk by the rushed timeframe.

“We applaud the Government for listening to the concerns of the aged care sector and putting the needs of older Australians first,” Ageing Australia CEO Tom Symondson said.

“We fully support the new rights-based Aged Care Act, but the simple truth is we’re not ready to introduce all the sweeping reforms by 1 July. Providers have been working around the clock to ensure a smooth transition, but we just haven’t received all the information we need in order to proceed.”

Today, our Home Care Clients shared laughter, stories, and delicious food at the Croatian Club’s Seniors Lunch, wrapped in the warmth of connection and care. With our incredible Support Workers by their side, it was more than just a meal — it was a reminder that no one is ever alone.

These moments mean the world to us, and we want more of our Clients to experience them. If you or your loved one is St Anna’s Home Care Client and would like to attend this lunch, please let us know — we’re here to help with transport and provide a caring es**rt.

Very proud of Mitchell 🫶

Mitchell started his employment journey at St Anna's Residential Care and Home Care Packages in 2024 in housekeeping. With a keen interest in expanding his skill set, he recently completed some intensive upskilling which focused on the duties required to operate a café.

He learned new skills and gained confidence, making the experience both positive and rewarding. Armed with new knowledge and enthusiasm, Mitchell had his first solo shift at the café. He was nervous but did a great job. On his second solo shift, he felt much more confident and handled everything smoothly with positive feedback from customers.

Mitchell is also talented in other areas, one of which is his YouTube channel, which has 10,000 subscribers. On his channel, he reviews games, creates animations, and provides voice acting for his videos.

Busy but beautiful day here at our Residential Care Facility!
As we prepare for Easter, today we had the special blessing of the baskets by our visiting priest. The residents truly enjoyed this cherished tradition, and the spirit of the season is definitely in the air.
Grateful for moments like these that bring us together and remind us of the joy in simple blessings. 🐰 🐇 🐣
