Today we celebrate our Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD). Our CSSD teams are critical for our hospital and responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and distributing medical devices and surgical instruments. Our valuable teams ensures equipment is safe for reuse across operating theatres and procedure suites.

It is certainly a big day for our team as we also received our new Dragon Low Temperature Steriliser!

We celebrated Allied Health Professionals Day this week. A big shout out to the team! We are fortunate to have both Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists as part of our NECH team as well as some amazing other colleagues who attend our hospital and aged care as contractors. So a shout out to our dietitians, speech pathologists, podiatrists and more! Thank you for choosing a career in allied health and supporting our patients, residents and staff here at NECH!

Our thanks go out to the Molfettese Singing Group for coming to perform in our aged care. What an event that was enjoyed by all! Cannot wait to get the toe-tapping team out to entertain our residents again soon!

Wow, what an amazing day today. Performed at North Eastern Community Aged Care, a new one for us! Was such a beautiful day, and so well received by everyone there..residents, visitors and staff all joined in with us! Even received 2 encores!! Well done musicians and congratulations Molfettese Singing Group....so proud of us!!🫶Thank you Tina for inviting us and thank you for the lovely afternoon tea.❤️😊

Today is Red Apple Day and thanks to the initiative of Bowel Cancer Australia we are putting the spotlight on bowel cancer awareness and screening!

Thanks to the team for sharing apples and promoting awareness of this treatable and preventable disease and also a big shout out to Prof. Rob Bryant who took time out of his busy day to talk to our CEO all things bowel cancer screening.

Lets spread the awareness, promote screening and support this great cause.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our amazing hospital and aged care volunteers who dedicated their time and compassion to NECH. From 19 - 25th May we celebrated Volunteers’ Week and recognised your kindness, commitment, and support for patients, residents, families, and staff make a meaningful difference every day.

As a token of our appreciation, we were delighted to host a special thank-you lunch at Café Settebello on Wednesday 21st May recognising our amazing volunteers and their years of service. A special mention to Helen, who this year celebrates an incredible 40 years of volunteering at NECH—an inspiring milestone that reflects her outstanding dedication and service.

We are truly grateful for everything you do—thank you for being such a valued part of our hospital and community.

Exciting things are happening at NECH…..

Out with the old and in with the new. Our new foyer and reception is almost finished. A project 2 years in the making, bringing our reception and admissions teams together, enhancing patient flow and experience.

A massive shout out to our admin teams that have been running the hospital from a trestle table, you are amazing and can’t wait to move you in to this awesome, contemporary and modern work space!
