October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - an international health campaign to promote screening and reduce the risk of the disease, which is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia.

As accredited exercise physiologists, we are qualified to design individual exercise programs to prevent and manage chronic diseases and injuries, including conditions such as breast cancer, at the EP. EP. Studio. We provide reconditioning during and post chemotherapy and other forms of breast cancer treatment, and help facilitate exercise and movement post breast cancer surgery.

Getting regular exercise during and following breast cancer treatment can have many benefits, including improving your physical and emotional wellbeing and quality of life. Exercise can help manage treatment and cancer-related side effects such as fatigue, lymphoedema, pain and lowered bone density. It can also improve mood, sleep, body weight, muscle strength, confidence, depression and anxiety.

This month we are developing our clients' confidence and the strength needed to KEEP performing functional everyday movements.

We are using the “5 pillars of movement” to focus on strengthening the areas of the body needed to:

✅ Get down on the floor ... AND back up again
✅ Lift and carry heavy loads (washing, shopping, bags, wheelbarrows etc…)
✅ Have great mechanics for walking + navigating pathways, steps, inclines and declines
✅ Lifting things overhead or reaching for things overhead
✅ Achieving and maintaining great balance

We have some exciting news...we're on the move!

Our Grange Road Studio has moved down the road to 162 Grange Road Flinders Park.

With this move comes increased availability across a whole week, with more classes and 1:1 sessions opening up! We're so pleased we're able to provide greater class and consult options for our current clients (which will hopefully reduce those waitlists!) and also give clients access to another ONERO site from a provider who has been delivering the ONERO program for more than five years.

Our new Grange Road Studio is a bright, light studio space located only 6km from the Adelaide CBD in a convenient location.

The new studio will initially be open on Wednesdays and Thursdays, offering 1:1 sessions, STRONG classes and Strength Bones Balance classes.

Strength Training is all about discovering YOUR strength for a specific lift - deadlift, back squat or overhead press.

These sessions are unique and not like our usual class offerings. They are an amazing opportunity to discover just how strong you are and how far you have come, and ensure you are optimising the weights you are lifting in class (especially if you are wanting to build your bone density!).

ANYBODY and ANY BODY can give strength testing a go - it doesn't matter how heavy you are lifting in class. In fact, some of our most amazing Strength Testing stories have come from people who have not been strength training for very long!

Next month is going to be a busy one with both Strength Testing Sessions AND a new round of HIIT/SIT classes!

These are the last Strength Testing and HIIT/SIT sessions that we are going to run for 2025, so if you've ever wanted to give them a go - now's your chance!

Both sessions are beginner friendly - it doesn't matter how long you have been coming to the Studio for, these sessions are all about what YOU and YOUR body are capable of.
