📚 Join us to celebrate BOOK WEEK at FF for the next 2 weeks, to ensure nobody is missing out. This year marks 80 years of book week and this year’s theme is “Book an Adventure”. We invite the children, big or small, to dress up daily (optional of course) and bring their favourite books to share.

🌟 Welcome Yvonne to Future Footprints! 🌟

We’re excited to officially welcome Yvonne as our new Allied Health Assistant! Many of you will already recognise her from her university placement with us.

Yvonne is studying Disability and Developmental Education at Flinders University and is passionate about advocacy and helping children thrive. With a background in engineering and experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, she values tailored, collaborative approaches that put each child’s unique needs at the centre.

Outside of work, Yvonne loves travelling, socialising, and spending time with her chocolate Labrador, Chewbacca 🐾.

📚✨ Book Week Fun! ✨🐛
This term’s Book Week theme was all about celebrating the magic of stories, and what better way to do that than with the classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

Throughout the week, we explored the colorful journey of the little caterpillar through fun-filled activities like:
🍎 Storytime and puppet play
🎨 Creative caterpillar crafts
🍓 Sensory play inspired by the story
🦋 A transformation station where we created our own caterpillars.
💪🏻 Crawled through tunnels, flew as butterflies

We were full of smiles, imagination, and hands-on learning. We had a very fun time! 💚📖🦋

Are you an Autistic artist living in South Australia? Entries are open now for the Office for Autism’s Sensory Bus Art Competition!

To enter, you’ll need an original artwork that creatively explores the theme "Spaces We Shape", showcasing Autistic identity, experience, and sensory expression.

There will be one winner from each of the following:

🎨 Children’s Category – Autistic children aged 5 – 17 years
🎨 Adults’ Category – Autistic adults aged 18 + years

The artwork from both winners will be proudly displayed on the exterior of their new Mobile Sensory Bus – a space created with and for the Autistic community.
