🎄 Christmas in July! 🎄
This week, we embraced the holiday spirit a few months early — because the magic of Christmas can be celebrated anytime you need a little extra cheer!

Bon bons were popped, gingerbread were baked, and we shared a joyful lunch together like one big family. ❤️✨

Here’s to spreading Christmas joy all year round!

🌟 NAIDOC Week 2025 | The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy 🌟

This NAIDOC Week, we join communities across the country in celebrating 50 years of recognising the culture, history, and strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The 2025 theme “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy” honours the powerful legacy of Elders past and present, while celebrating the future being shaped by Indigenous youth, guided by resilience, wisdom, and pride.

At ANFE Community Care, we take this moment to reflect on the importance of respect, community, and inclusion while we stand in solidarity, acknowledging the enduring strength of First Nations communities and their vital place in our shared future.

This week, and every week, we commit to listening, learning, and supporting a future where every generation is valued and every voice respected.

As the winter chill sets in, it’s important to remember that many in the community are doing it tough and need a little extra help keeping warm.

We’re doing our part by raising awareness and taking beanie and scarf donations for the Hutt Street Centre.

If you have any spare warm clothes, you can bring your donation to our Head Office or leave it with one of our trusted staff members or volunteers.

Every donation makes a difference and is deeply appreciated.

🟣 June 15 – World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD)

Everyone deserves to age with dignity, respect, and safety.
Elder abuse happens more often than many realise, and it affects people from all walks of life.

💜 ANFE Community Care is standing up to raise awareness and support prevention in our community.

It only takes a moment to learn the signs, speak up, and support older people so they can live their lives free from abuse.

Buona festa della Repubblica!
Earlier this week we celebrated Italian Republic Day, embracing the richness of Italian culture and honouring the spirit of unity and independence.

🍝 Some of our participants channelled their inner chef by cooking up pasta and meatballs,
🎶 others proudly sang the Italian national anthem,
🌍 and many wore The Tricolour, regardless of nationality, to show appreciation for the Italian culture.

Celebrating independence reminds us all of the beauty in recognising and respecting each other’s heritage. Here’s to unity, culture, and the joy of shared traditions!

Who we are, where we’re going

ANFE Community Care was established in Adelaide in 1961 as Associazione Nazionale Famiglie degli Emigrati Inc. by Cavaliere Ufficiale Antonio Giordano AM, and was the first committee independent of the Italian Consulate or Australian Government to provide language and employment support to newly-arriving Italians.

ANFE received its first Australian Department of Immigration grant in the late 1980s, and soon after developed a pilot project to support young people living with intellectual disabilities and their carers, titled ‘Da Noi’, meaning ‘With Us’.

As the needs of its clients changed, so did ANFE’s mission.
