Today we celebrate International Women’s Day 🌸

Across our aged care and disability services, women play an extraordinary role every single day — as carers, nurses, support workers, leaders, advocates, family members, and community builders. Their compassion, strength, and dedication help create environments where people feel valued, supported, and empowered.

We also recognise the incredible women we support — whose resilience, stories, and achievements continue to inspire us.

On this International Women’s Day, we recognise the grandmothers, mothers, daughters and granddaughters who inspire, support, and strengthen our communities every day.

Together, let’s continue to champion respect, equality, and opportunity for all. 💜

Thank you to everyone who attended our recent information session with Legal Services Commission of South Australia on Advance Care Directives, Powers of Attorney, and Wills and Estates.

It was a valuable opportunity for our community to learn more about planning ahead, understanding legal rights, and making informed decisions about the future. We appreciate the team from Legal Services Commission of South Australia for sharing their knowledge and answering questions in such an engaging and supportive way.

Thank you to all who joined us and contributed to the discussion. We look forward to continuing to provide opportunities like this that support informed and empowered communities.

Employee Spotlight: Meet Our Finance Coordinator!

Today we are excited to introduce our dedicated Finance Coordinator, Michael, who plays a key role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly.

With a strong eye for detail and a passion for accuracy, Michael ensures our budgeting, reporting and financial processes stay organise and efficient. Beyond the numbers, he brings positivity, teamwork and professionalism to everything he does.

We asked Michael:

What do you enjoy most about your role?
“I love being part of a team where my work directly supports smart decision-making and organisational growth.”

What makes our workplace special?
“The collaboration and supportive culture. Everyone works together toward shared goals.”

Welcome to the ANFE Community Care team Michael!

Green thumbs and big smiles all around today 🌿🌺
The Out & About clients spent the morning wandering through the beautiful displays at Virginia Nursery, taking in the colours, floral scents and variety of plants on offer.
There was plenty of chatting and even a little inspiration for future planting projects! 🌼🪴 Time spent in nature always brings a sense of calm and joy and today was no exception.
We love creating opportunities for our clients to get out into the community, explore local spaces, and enjoy meaningful moments together.

🎊 Happy Lunar New Year! 🧧🐉
Our clients welcomed the Lunar New Year with joy, laughter, and the most important tradition of all — sharing a meal together.
Across many cultures, Lunar New Year is a time for family, reflection, and togetherness. This year, our clients gathered to enjoy a special shared feast, celebrate cultural traditions, and welcome the year ahead with hope and good fortune.
It was wonderful to see friendships strengthened around the table, stories shared, and smiles all around. Moments like these remind us how meaningful connection and community truly are.
Wishing everyone a year filled with health, happiness, and prosperity. 🏮✨

🥞 Shrove Tuesday Celebrations! 🥞
Today our wonderful clients from Daycare, SWANS, WOW and Disability Services came together to celebrate Shrove Tuesday the best way possible — by making (and enjoying!) delicious pancakes.
There was plenty of mixing, flipping, laughter and teamwork in the kitchen. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to connect, build skills, and share in a fun and meaningful tradition.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special. The pancakes were a hit! 💛

Love was in the air this week for Valentine’s Day! ❤️

We shared chocolate hearts with our wonderful clients and participants, along with a special card and a meaningful activity. Everyone had the chance to write the name of someone they love and add it to our giant heart display.

This display was a beautiful reminder of the strong connections within our community — family, friends, carers and pets who make every day brighter.

Thank you to everyone who shared a little piece of their heart with us. 💗

Who we are, where we’re going

ANFE Community Care was established in Adelaide in 1961 as Associazione Nazionale Famiglie degli Emigrati Inc. by Cavaliere Ufficiale Antonio Giordano AM, and was the first committee independent of the Italian Consulate or Australian Government to provide language and employment support to newly-arriving Italians.

ANFE received its first Australian Department of Immigration grant in the late 1980s, and soon after developed a pilot project to support young people living with intellectual disabilities and their carers, titled ‘Da Noi’, meaning ‘With Us’.

As the needs of its clients changed, so did ANFE’s mission.
