Today on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we honour the memory of babies who are no longer with us.

For those who experience miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of a newborn, the emotional and physical effects of grief can be profound.

If you know someone who has experienced loss, help break the silence and the stigma, and let them know that you are thinking of them.

If you have experienced grief and loss or know someone who has, support is available.

Speak to your health professional or see the links in our comment below for more information.

Hepatitis C can be tested for and there is treatment available. Untreated chronic liver infections can increase the risk of liver cancer.

Risk factors for Hepatitis C are
- people who inject drugs, or have injected drugs in the past;
- have been in prison;
- had a blood transfusion in Australia before February 1990, or more recently in another country;
- have a mother with hepatitis C infection;
- have a sexual partner with hepatitis C infection and are HIV positive;
- have had haemodialysis
- were born in, or have had medical procedures in a country with a high prevalence of hepatitis C;
- have had a tattoo or body piercing done by someone with poor infection control practices; or
have had other blood to blood contact with another person.

Please speak to your General Practitioner if any of the above risk factors have occurred any time in your life for a simple blood test referral.

This Sunday is World Hepatitis Day. 📅

In Australia more than 300,000 people are living with Hepatitis B or C. Many are unaware they are living with it, which is why testing is so important.

Did you know?
✔️Hepatitis B has effective treatment and a vaccine
✔️Hepatitis C has a cure and is preventable.

The Australian Government is committed to eliminating hepatitis B and hepatitis C as public health threats by 2030.

If you’re worried about signs and symptoms, check in with your health professional for advice on testing and treatment.

Today is Say Their Name Day 🤍

Today is Say Their Name Day - a day for everyone in our community to say the names of all the babies and children we have loved and lost. No matter the cause, no matter the age, we are here to say the names of your babies and children.

Join Fiona, Caitlyn and Paul and Pauline and all the others who will say the names of their little one's this year by downloading a sign, or commenting your little one's name on this post.

For families whose babies were not named you can include your baby's family name, a nickname used during pregnancy, a significant date or any symbol that is meaningful to you.
