A – Yes – it's free to create your Will and make changes to it for free for the first year. After that, there is a subscription free, which is why your credit card details need to be on file. The subscription allows you to make unlimited updates to your will for $15/year.

Q – If I opt out of the $15 annual subscription, is my Will still legal?

A – Yes - your will remains a legal document. The Safewill subscription is optional, and you can opt-out. The subscription provides ongoing access to update your will, as well as digital safekeeping. If you want to resubscribe to make updates in the future, a one-time fee of $80 is required, followed by the standard annual subscription of $15 per year.

The Returned and Services League of Australia (RSL) is preparing for a change in leadership as RSL National President Greg Melick steps down after six and a half years of service in the leading veteran role. Three exceptional candidates have been nominated by their State Branches.

In accordance with the RSL Constitution, the election will take place on the day of the RSL Australia General Meeting (AGM), Thursday 16 October, with each State Branch able to vote. The new President will take office for a three-year term following the conclusion of the meeting.

The three nominees for National President are:

Kerry Gallagher AM from Queensland, a former Army Officer, deployed to Vietnam, Iran and Iraq; Ray James OAM JP GAICD from New South Wales, a former Chief Petty Officer in the Navy, deployed to Vietnam and the Far East Strategic Reserve; and Peter Tinley AM from Western Australia, a former Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) Officer, deployed to Lebanon, Syria, Bougainville, Afghanistan, Iraq and the Middle East.

The Australian Government Department of Veterans' Affairs has been made aware of incorrect and misleading information being circulated online about the Veterans' Entitlements, Treatment and Support (Simplification and Harmonisation) Act 2025 (VETS Act) and what it will mean for entitlements from 1 July 2026.

Congrats to Elaine who spun up the top prize of $100 on tonight’s Spin That Wheel - our weekly fundraiser.

Mark was up next and landed on the mystery prize of Lamb Shanks.

Kay won a meal voucher and Rod a voucher for The Steak Shoppe.
